TCIS is a diverse community that cares for students by providing a challenging and comprehensive curriculum, a myriad of student activities, and an experienced and dedicated faculty. TCIS is a prestigious, college preparatory school, educating students from Kindergarten through grade 12. For families living outside of the Daejeon area, TCIS also runs an on-campus residence program. Our Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) - accredited academic programs provide a well-rounded education to produce successful graduates matriculate to top renowned universities in North America and around the world. TCIS was the first school in Korea to offer the Three Programme IB Continuum and we have been working with this structure for longer than any other school in the country. TCIS presently is authorized to offer the Diploma Programme for the high school (11th-12th grade) the Middle Years Programme (MYP) for middle ages (6-10th grade) and the Primary Years Programme (PYP) for elementary school (pre-Kindergarten-5th grade.) The IB Diploma Programme is a demanding pre-university course of study for highly motivated 11th and 12th grader. An IB diploma is received upon the successful completion of course work, examinations, and other requirements. The program has earned a reputation for rigorous assessment, giving IB diploma holders access to the world's leading universities. The IB Diploma students are well prepared for university work. The program is a comprehensive two-year international curriculum that permits students to fulfill the requirements of their national systems. The program incorporates the best elements of national systems, without being based on any one. Internationally mobile students are able to transfer from one IB school to another, while students who remain closer to home benefit from a highly respected international curriculum.
