Appfire Flow helps engineering leaders turn data into faster outcomes with fewer blockers. As a Software Engineering Intelligence (SEI) platform, Flow connects data across the DevOps stack, including Git, Jira, and collaboration tools, to surface insights that show where delivery slows down and how to fix it. Your everyday tasks will include:
As a Principal Software Engineer, you are a trusted technical leader whose judgment shapes the direction of key product and platform initiatives. You will apply your expertise to guide decisions, influence architecture, and drive outcomes that matter.
Your scope impact includes:
Strategy and Planning: Implementing strategic goals and establishing operational plans for your job area with short-to mid-term impact.
Innovation: Developing and implementing new features, processes, or standards to achieve functional results.
Problem Solving: Conducting extensive investigation to understand the root cause of numerous, undefined problems and unique issues across functions and/or businesses.
Execution: Deliver large, complex project initiatives of strategic importance to the organization, involving large cross-functional teams.
Leadership and Communication: You will frequently provide guidance, coaching, and training to other employees across the company within your area of expertise.
As someone who enjoys working on a wide range of challenges, you will contribute to accelerating the delivery, quality, and evolution of Appfire Flow through:
Team Collaboration: As the architect responsible for technology at the product level, you will reach beyond the team scope and cooperate closely with Designers, Product Managers, Team Managers, Support and Sales.
Engineering Excellence: Uphold our commitment to engineering excellence through collaborative practices, including pair programming, code reviews, and automated testing.
Ownership and Improvement: Be the change you seek—if you see something that can be improved, suggest how and make it happen (alone or by engaging your colleagues).
Purpose: Focus your efforts on high-impact assignments, knowing that your daily work translates into tangible value for our customers and accelerates product outcomes.
Skills and experience you'll need to succeed:
The ideal candidate will have mastery-level knowledge typically obtained through education combined with experience.
Experience: Proven record (10+ years) of delivery of multiple complex software development projects or products.
Full-Stack Expertise: Hands-on experience with front-end and back-end web technologies. Consider any of: Python, Java, React. You do not have to be a master in each, but you should be comfortable learning and working with any of them.
Architectural Depth:
Strong architectural understanding of modern Cloud architectures, and practical experience implementing them in either AWS, GCP, or Azure.
Deep architectural understanding of web applications, including performance, quality, and security aspects.
Database Knowledge: Strong foundational understanding of SQL and relational database concepts; familiarity with NoSQL is a plus.
Technical Acumen: Ability to decompose complex problems into well-described, realistic-to-estimate tasks.
Mentorship: Desire and ability to mentor other team members, transferring your expertise across the organization.
Language: Working English proficiency.
