As a Senior IT Engineer for IBM Jazz , you will be responsible for maintaining applications hosted in IBM ELM platform. You will support our worldwide distributed Research & Development (R&D) team in case of incidents and changes for our tool chains. You will be responsible for maintaining applications hosted in the IBM ELM platform.
Responsibilities:
- Administration and support of IBM ELM (Jazz) application like e.g. Doors Next Generation, Global Configuration, Report Builder etc.;
- Configuration and monitoring of databases to ensure backups, availability and performance are all maintained to the highest standards;
- Tuning, trouble shooting and on-call production support for database environments deployed in AWS environments both on the EC2 and RDS platforms;
- Monitor daily operational processes and take corrective action as necessary;
- Report weekly to management about abnormalities and critical issues; provide root cause analysis and recommendations; work with infrastructure team, application team and/or other teams for problem resolutions, following the escalation path if needed;
- Monitor and work on BMC ticket queue for request to make schema changes, execute scripts against the databases and refresh non-production databases.
- Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's/College Degree, Computer Science/Information Technology. Engineering or equivalent.
- 3+ working experience in IT or related R&D business area.
- At least 2 years experience working with Oracle (preferred) or any 2 of these other RDBMS technologies: MS SQL Server, AWS RDS (mySQL), PostgreSQL.
- 3+ years experience with AWS Management Service (Cloud Watch, EC2, RDS etc).
- 2+ years experience in application support, tool administration and service tasks.
- 2+ years experience in IT administration and service tasks.
- Knowledge about Agile Methodologies (SCRUM/Kanban).
- Good understanding of the IT Service Management Processes.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with strong customer focus.
- English (fluently).
- Strong communications and interpersonal skills required.
- Deploying or migrating databases into AWS (ec2 or RDS) or any hands-on experience working with AWS or other public cloud providers a distinct advantage.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks with different deadlines.
