About the role

We’re looking for an Operations Business Partner to enable and supercharge how our User Voice (UV) team delivers, connects, and scales. User Voice is a 500+ person, globally distributed org made up of Customer Service specialists, engineers, product, designers and operations, and this role is at the heart of helping them all work together seamlessly.

Reporting to the Chief of Staff of User Voice, you’ll be the glue that connects goals, people, and processes, enabling our User Voice team with the clarity, tools, and support they need to do their best work. From owning Jira and goal delivery tracking to orchestrating team rituals, events, and culture-building moments, you’ll be creating the smooth rhythms that help UV thrive. You will balance structure with empowerment so people feel enabled. This role is for someone who can move between details and strategy quickly, building scalable processes and who brings people along with clarity and empathy.

What you’d be doing in this role

As Canva scales change continues to be part of our DNA. But we like to think that's all part of the fun. So this will give you the flavour of the type of things you'll be working on when you start, but this will likely evolve.

At the moment, this role is focused on:

• Leading Jira ownership and change management: Setting up, optimising, and scaling Jira as the central hub for User Voice goal delivery, tracking, and reporting while guiding teams through the behavioural shifts needed.

• Running smooth goal cadences: Making planning cycles seamless, connecting the big picture to day-to-day progress, and highlighting wins, blockers, and dependencies.

• Building visibility: Designing dashboards and reports that give leaders clear, trusted insights into performance and outcomes.

• Operationalising ways of working: Streamlining org-wide cadences (e.g. All Hands, research, specialty reviews) to ensure they deliver value.

• Driving cultural connection: Organising events, rituals, and connection points that bring our globally distributed team together, from AU celebrations to major onsite events.

• Turning insights into action: Partnering with People Partners and Leads to translate Pulse feedback into meaningful improvements across User Voice

• Supporting special projects: Stepping into high-impact initiatives (like Hackathons, Canva World Tour, or specialty process rollouts) and making sure they land smoothly.

• Experimenting with AI + automation: Identifying opportunities to reduce manual effort, trial new tools, and unlock efficiencies at scale.

You're probably a match if

• You have a few years experience in operations, program/project management, or an equivalent team-enabling role.

• You’re confident using Jira and know how to make it work for both technical and non-technical teams building dashboards, workflows, and reports that people actually use.

• You bring strong change management instincts and can guide people through new ways of working with clarity and empathy.

• You’re able to operate at pace, and able to build momentum fast.

• You can balance leadership expectations with team sentiment and bring both together with confidence. You communicate tradeoffs clearly so leaders make informed decisions and teams stay engaged and aligned.

• You’re based in Sydney, with flexibility to be in the office at least 2–3 days a week.

• You’re a systems thinker who loves turning complexity into clarity whether that’s mapping dependencies, simplifying processes, or helping others see the big picture.

• You thrive in ambiguity when priorities shift or problems don’t have a clear owner, you lean in, figure it out, and bring people with you.

• You’re an excellent communicator, able to influence without authority, craft clear updates, rally teams, and make sure no one misses the context.

• You’re passionate about team culture and connection and you enjoy creating experiences (onsites, events, rituals) that make distributed teams feel engaged and included.

• You’re curious about AI and automation and not afraid to test new tools and find smart ways to reduce manual effort and unlock scale.

• You operate with judgment, and urgency knowing when to dive into the details, and zoom out to see the big picture.
