Paralegal (12-month contract)

| Note: this position is not an official full-time position, the candidate will contract with FESCO.

What you’ll do (responsibilities)

• Assist with our work in cutting-edge sectors, e.g. AI & algorithm, data privacy, content moderation, etc, including  filings and compliance analysis;

• Review and monitor laws and regulations, relevant judicial decisions, statutes, legal articles, codes and other relevant material;

• Conduct legal research to organize, analyze, cross-check and validate information;

• Assist with reviewing agreements, filings, policies, and other legal documents;

• Work collaboratively across multiple functions to manage tasks and projects;

• Support compliance needs, including helping to implement, monitor and assist with raising awareness of corporate compliance policies and programs; 

• Support management systems relating to contracts, law firm invoices, and department record keeping and facilitate their transformation empowered by AI;

• Help prepare and deliver training and guidebooks, e.g. privacy/AI governance training, legal system use guidebook; and

• Assist with stamping and archiving, and maintaining all records and files on an ongoing basis.

What we're looking for

• Minimum 1-3 years of legal experience supporting technology companies either in-house or at a law firm;  

• International or multinational company experience is well-regarded; 

• Solid knowledge and understanding of legal principles and practices; 

• Fluency in written and verbal English;

• A hands-on, self-motivated team member; 

• High learning agility, someone who is adaptable and creative when faced with changes; and

• Detailed-focused, someone who is motivated to dig into and proactively get involved in tasks.
