Senior Engineering Manager (FE) - Presentations (ANZ Remote)

What you'd be doing in this role

As Canva’s most used doctype, Presentations is at the heart of our product experience — and we’re doubling down. With over 100 million monthly active users and bold ambitions to make Presentations the hero journey for AI-first editing, we’re looking for a senior engineering leader to help us scale this product to new heights.

At the moment, this role is focused on:

• Leading the growth of our Presentations engineering team into multiple squads, spanning frontend and machine learning specialties
• Driving velocity, quality, and delivery across complex, cross-functional work streams
• Partnering with product and design to shape the roadmap and set a bold vision for AI-powered, interactive presentation tools
• Building an inclusive, high-performing culture where engineers can thrive and do the best work of their lives
• Championing engineering excellence and investing in scalable architecture, evergreen services, and sustainable delivery practices
• Connecting short-term execution to long-term strategy — balancing quick wins with foundational bets

You're probably a match if:

• You’re a product-minded engineering leader who deeply values user experience and has a strong track record of delivering intuitive, impactful products.
• You’ve led large teams through complex product delivery — from early concepts to scale
• You’re passionate about people leadership and know how to grow, coach, and inspire strong engineers and future leaders
• You thrive in ambiguity, with a strong ability to align diverse stakeholders and drive toward outcomes
• You bring deep technical experience, and while you may not be in the code daily, you speak the language fluently
• You’ve worked in environments that blend frontend and machine learning — or you're excited to dive in
• You’ve built (or want to build) AI-first, user-loved products at massive scale
• You’re a ruthless prioritiser, and a systems thinker, who can keep teams focused on what matters most
