About the role
Our client is seeking a Web Analyst to elevate our data-driven decision-making across our Shopify ecosystem. This role will own the end-to-end analytics infrastructure — ensuring clean, accurate data collection through Google Tag Manager (GTM) and Google Analytics 4 (GA4) — and will deliver actionable insights that fuel growth, optimize user journeys, and improve conversion performance.
You’ll collaborate closely with ecommerce, development, and marketing teams to maintain a robust analytics setup, identify behavioral trends, and support business-critical reporting in Looker Studio and other data visualization tools.
Key Responsibilities
Analytics Implementation & Management
- Audit, implement, and maintain all GA4 and GTM configurations for our Shopify storefront and app experiences.
- Ensure accurate tracking of key ecommerce events, funnels, and conversion actions across web and mobile.
- Create and manage advanced tagging strategies (custom HTML tags, triggers, and variables) for marketing pixels and dataLayer integrations.
- Troubleshoot and QA data tracking issues across Shopify themes, apps, and integrations.
Data Analysis & Reporting
- Translate user behavior data into insights that drive CRO, merchandising, and marketing decisions.
- Build and maintain dashboards in Looker Studio (or Looker) for performance monitoring and executive reporting.
- Partner with ecommerce and marketing teams to measure the impact of campaigns, promotions, and site changes.
- Conduct ad hoc analyses on customer journeys, conversion funnels, and attribution paths.
Auditing & Data Quality
- Lead comprehensive GA4 and GTM audits, identifying gaps, redundancies, and misconfigurations.
- Ensure data consistency between GA4, Shopify, and marketing platforms (Meta, Google Ads, TikTok, Klaviyo, etc.).
- Document and standardize all tracking frameworks for cross-functional visibility.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate with developers to implement technical tracking requirements.
- Work with CRO and Product teams to test hypotheses using clean and validated data.
- Support advanced analytics initiatives, including user segmentation, predictive modeling, and LTV analysis.
