Trucking is a massive industry but it is a traditional industry and like many traditional industries, it is ripe for innovation.

Being an all-in-one platform, our product development teams tackle a broad range of complex challenges ranging from logistics route optimizations, to IOT and SaaS integrations, to AI automations, to building fintech products to power a trucking business.

As a software engineer, you will leverage your skills and expertise to make key technical decisions and deliver products that meaningfully impact and empower the truck drivers on our platform, as well as our internal-facing teams.

Examples of projects that you may work on

• AI Document Processing: Build a document processing service that is able to ingest unstructured and heterogenous data from many disparate sources (e.g. PDFs, scanned images, etc) and extract structured data and insights. Leverage this capability to automate business critical workflows and remove human intervention.

• AI Support and Operations: Build AI agents capable of fielding, responding, and resolving support inquiries as well as automating operational tasks. For customer facing interactions, AI agents must support multi-modal communication: can converse with drivers on phone, text over SMS or in-app chat, or respond to emails.

• Driver Qualification Engine: Leverage LLMs to analyze background checks and driver history, enabling instant, data-driven onboarding decisions.

• Driver Dispatch: Improve our scheduling and route optimization algorithms so drivers receive the jobs that maximizes their take home while respecting their personal preferences.

• Embedded Fintech: Build a financial ledger system to track and manage all cash movement, inflows, and outflows across the CloudTrucks platform. Use this system to move millions of dollars each month and launch a variety of financial products aimed at helping truckers operate their business.

• Rewards Program: Build a tiered rewards program that rewards top drivers for staying active, driving safe, and making on-time deliveries every month.

Responsibilities

• Design, test, ship, and maintain solutions to problems and products.

• Take complete ownership over projects and features. Work across a range of systems and technologies to deliver end-to-end solutions.

• Partner with cross functional teams to ensure a complete and delightful customer experience.

• Help set and improve our engineering processes, standards, and tooling.

What we are looking for

• Strong technical background, including 4+ years of industry experience as a software engineer working on production systems.

• Self-motivated and comfortable operating in a dynamic environment with a strong sense of ownership.

• Takes a user-focused approach, shipping incrementally with rapid iterations.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills. As a small engineering team, we work closely with each other and other cross functional teams across the company.

• Experience with web technologies and system design.

• Experience leveraging AI tools to accelerate software development speed while maintaining high code quality (copilot, cursor, claude, etc.)

• Experience and enthusiasm for applying LLMs to solve business use cases.

Nice to haves

• Full-stack experience.

• Experience with our technical stack: Python, Django, PostgreSQL, Javascript, Typescript, React, Google Cloud

• Production experience developing AI orchestration systems or Agentic AI.
