We are looking for a skilled System Administrator who will serve as front-line IT support and contribute to cloud and infrastructure projects. This contractor role is ideal for someone who thrives in both day-to-day support and project-driven work, with strong expertise in AWS and Azure.
Job Summary:
As a System Administrator, you will be responsible for providing responsive IT support to our staff while managing and optimizing core infrastructure. You will troubleshoot and resolve user issues, administer cloud and on-prem systems, and assist in technology initiatives such as cloud migrations, infrastructure upgrades, and security improvements. This is a hands-on role requiring both technical breadth and strong communication skills.
Responsibilities:
User & Desktop Support
- Serve as Tier 1–2 support for hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
- Handle onboarding/offboarding, Microsoft 365 account setup, and permissions.
- Administer device management through Apple Business Essentials and Intune.
- Guide staff on IT best practices and secure system usage.
Systems & Cloud Administration
- Manage AWS and Azure environments, including VM hosting, storage, networking, and cost efficiency.
- Support Windows and Linux servers, virtualization, and hybrid infrastructure.
- Maintain backups, monitoring, and disaster recovery readiness.
- Automate repetitive admin tasks where feasible.
Network & Security
- Configure and support LAN/WAN, VPN, wireless networks, and Cisco devices.
- Apply security policies, patches, and endpoint protections.
- Assist in monitoring, audits, and compliance reporting.
Project Work
- Support infrastructure upgrades, SaaS integrations, and security initiatives.
- Participate in application deployments, testing, and documentation.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with IT leadership and engineering teams.
