We are seeking a strategic and hands-on Senior Legal Counsel to lead litigation and dispute resolution across civil and criminal matters. You will manage end-to-end legal proceedings, enforce platform integrity, and design scalable content policies to reduce legal risk. This role is central to protecting our marketplace from fraud, abuse, and regulatory exposure.
Key Responsibilities
- Litigation Management: Own the full lifecycle of disputes—from early case assessment to hearings, appeals, and settlements. Represent the company directly or manage external counsel.
- Platform Enforcement: Initiate legal action against misuse of the platform (e.g., scraping, fraud, impersonation). Collaborate with Trust & Safety, Security, and law enforcement agencies.
- Content Policy Design: Develop content governance frameworks that reduce downstream legal risk and clarify liability boundaries.
- Process Optimization: Build and refine internal workflows for litigation tracking, evidence handling, and continuous improvement.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Translate complex legal issues into actionable insights for product, engineering, operations, and AI teams.
- External Counsel Oversight: Manage outside counsel panels, run RFPs, define scope and budgets, and monitor performance.
- Evidence & Data Compliance: Implement legal holds, document preservation, and digital evidence protocols in coordination with IT/SRE.
- Regulatory Response & Investigations: Handle inquiries from regulators, lead internal investigations, and manage public disclosure risks.
- IP & Content Disputes: Address claims related to impersonation, brand misuse, counterfeiting, and copyright/trademark violations.
- Reporting & Metrics: Maintain dashboards for litigation status, cycle times, settlement outcomes, and legal spend vs. budget.
