About this role

Why Now

2025 has been a breakout year for Doppler. We’ve helped over 50,000 startups and enterprises manage their secrets at scale, and landed our first million-dollar customer. We've shipped some of our most exciting features yet, expanded our customer base, and sharpened our focus like never before. With a strong foundation in community, we're scaling and monetizing with ambitious goals across product, growth, sales, and hiring. The momentum is real, and we’re just getting started.

About Doppler

Doppler's mission is to make it easy and secure for developers of every experience level and teams of any size to manage their app configuration and secrets. But hasn't this been done?

Developers tend to be either struggling with the manual management of .env files, or wrestling with an overly complex secrets manager that's not built for software development. Doppler is changing that by making app configuration and secrets management easy, intuitive, and scalable. It's the SecretOps platform built by developers for developers.

Our team is entrepreneurial, with a bias for action. We never back down from a spirited debate and believe we are all responsible for exploring the hard questions. We value self-awareness and meaningful impact. We are open to unconventional approaches and have learned not to judge a book by its cover. Your time is your most valuable resource, so you set your hours. We use Slack to communicate and default to zero meetings. We aim to document everything. We also recommend you invest your time in 10% compounding time.

Who We Are

Doppler is a developer-first secrets management platform that enables engineers and security teams to securely store their secrets across any cloud infrastructure or deployment environment at scale.

The Role

As the Senior Product Manager, you will partner with the CEO to lead the strategy and development of Doppler’s core product. You’re experienced in all the typical product management responsibilities, such as product strategy, writing PRDs, discovery, talking to users, analyzing data, and defining goals and success criteria, alongside knowledge of DevOps tooling. Leveraging a deep understanding of the software development industry and our unique position within it, you will spearhead initiatives that address challenges engineering teams face while innovating and expanding our offering to cater to developers at all levels of expertise. Collaborating cross-functionally with all teams spanning engineering to sales, your voice will be instrumental in shaping our product direction and growing our footprint in the industry. You will lead alignment across engineering, design, and the business by setting direction, driving clarity, and ensuring teams move forward together. You are passionate about the world of secrets management and developer & security tooling, and you’re ready to hit the ground running in a fast-paced environment.

About the Team

We’re a security-first organization that genuinely cares about the quality of what we build. We collaborate with as little ego as humanly possible and are constantly trying to improve how we work and deliver software.

What you’ll do:

  • Take full ownership of features from inception to launch, crafting product specifications, collaborating with design and engineering, facilitating cross-functional collaboration, and making judicious product decisions while keeping the company informed of insights and developments. You will iterate post-launch using quantitative and qualitative data.

  • Strategize and prioritize initiatives to concentrate efforts on high-value activities that resonate with our product strategy.

  • Collaborate closely with teams and leadership to sculpt the overarching product strategy and delineate a forward-thinking roadmap.

  • Work hand-in-hand with engineering and design to translate customer problems into clear product direction, aligned plans, and shipped outcomes.

  • Deeply understand the Secrets Management and Identity space, identifying areas of opportunity through research and data.

  • Engage regularly with customers, internal teams, and partners to unearth new insights, subsequently transforming these into well-defined, actionable plans.

  • Balance out the priorities of our customers with the long-term direction of the product.

  • Analyze, comprehend, and enhance critical success metrics, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.

  • QA new features before they ship to make sure they meet requirements and are ready for production.

  • Embrace a developer-centric, security-first approach in all endeavors, laying the foundation for a product that stands synonymous with trust and quality.

  • Write and maintain clean, detailed tickets and product documentation in tools like Linear and Notion.

What you’ll bring to the table:

  • A minimum of 5+ years of product management within the DevOps tool sector, showcasing a rich history of strategizing and executing successful products

  • Familiarity with identity-based authentication frameworks and OpenID Connect (OIDC) is considered a significant plus, enhancing your capacity to contribute to specialized product functionalities.

  • Demonstrated ability to distill broad themes and substantial ideas into a structured roadmap of features and research initiatives, requiring minimal guidance and displaying a keen eye for detail.

  • Experience architecting platforms with strong inoperability between products.

  • Familiarity with tools like Linear, Notion, Posthog, and Figma.

  • A proven track record of delivering tangible results that benefit both users and the business, substantiating your ability to drive successful outcomes.

  • Demonstrated expertise in segmenting projects into phased releases for iterative development, measuring impact, and determining the viability of further investment.

  • Acumen to set and attain strategic goals, adapting product strategy in line with research, data, and industry trends within a dynamic and innovative setting.

  • Exemplary communication skills, both written and verbal, enabling you to articulate the rationale behind decisions clearly and effectively, whether it be customer presentations or drafting feature specifications with partners.

  • A data-informed approach to product management, showcasing deep comprehension of product functionalities and the ability to gauge long-term impact. Proficiency in defining and assessing success metrics. A foundational understanding of SQL is a plus.

  • Proven ability to inspire individuals across various job functions, fostering a collaborative working environment where your influence catalyzes progress and efficiency.

  • Strategic mindset that accommodates both macro and micro perspectives, adept at crafting a roadmap encompassing significant milestones and incremental victories.

  • Practical experience utilizing tools such as Linear and Notion, streamlining processes.

  • A humble approach to knowledge gaps, unafraid to say “I don’t know”, and embrace opportunities for growth and learning.

Closing

We've built a great product our customers love. Our churn is low, and active usage continues to rise. We just need to amplify our reach to educate the market that secrets management can be fast, secure, and affordable for teams and organizations of any size. And most importantly, we need to continue encouraging Developers to stop adhering to archaic insecure standards such as manually managing .env file formats.

Are you passionate about developer-focused products and ready to join an amazing team? Then we want to hear from you!
