We are seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Engineer II to join our multidisciplinary
engineering team. In this role, you will design mechanical components, develop and validate complex system architectures, and drive experimental efforts to mitigate technical risks across thermal, fluidic, and motion subsystems. You will contribute directly to improving system performance, developing automation validation tools, and enabling data-driven decisions that influence product direction.
Responsibilities:
-Design, prototype, and refine mechanical components and assemblies using sound
engineering principles with close collaboration with cross-functional teams (electrical,
fluidics, optics, software, systems engineering) to ensure seamless system integration.
-Select and integrate key components such as motors, bearings, encoders, pumps, valves,
sensors, seals, heaters, and thermoelectrics.
-Generate detailed CAD models, engineering drawings, and documentation.
-Design and execute experiments to characterize key system performance metrics.
-Develop and execute test hardware setup to mitigate risks associated with thermal, fluidic, and motion system performances, including selection, integration and qualification of necessary metrology tools and sensors, as well as developing custom scripts to execute
tests.
-Analyze data to identify root causes, validate design hypotheses, and guide system
improvements.
-Conduct critical parameter mapping (CPM) tests to identify optimal performance parameters and characterize system limits.
-Translate experimental insights into actionable design or operational recommendations.
Document and communicate findings clearly for engineering and leadership review.
Minimum qualifications:
B.S. or M.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
2–5 years of mechanical engineering experience.
Proficiency in CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks).
Experience with data acquisition, scripting (Python/MATLAB), and test development.
Strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills.
Usage of basic fabrication tools (milling, drilling, mechanical assembly, fluidics assembly)
Preferred qualifications:
Comfortable with rapid build-measure-learn cycles.
Basic electronics knowledge (microcontrollers, motor drivers)
Basic knowledge of data analysis and statistical processing.
Salary 105K – 115K, Offer Bonus Offer Equity
