General Description
The Area Vice President (AVP) for the Northeast will provide senior leadership and strategic direction for GuidePoint Security's sales operation across the Northeast region. Reporting to the Regional Partner, this executive will be responsible for leading multiple Area Sales Directors and their teams, driving significant revenue growth, expanding market presence, and ensuring the achievement of aggressive sales targets across both commercial/enterprise and SLED (State, Local and Education) markets. This role requires a proven sales executive who can build and scale organizations, develop talent, and establish GuidePoint Security as the dominant cybersecurity partner throughout the Northeast. This position is virtual/remote with significant regional and national travel required.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Area Directors responsible for sales across the Northeast territory
- Recruit and hire Area Directors and provide strategic guidance on their team building efforts
- Establish performance standards, metrics, and accountability frameworks for Area Directors and their teams
- Own and deliver significant regional revenue targets while managing forecasting accuracy, pipeline health, key performance metrics, and P&L considerations across multiple territories
- Serve as executive sponsor and thought leader by building C-suite relationships with strategic accounts, representing the company at industry events, and acting as the regional face of the organization
- Drive cross-functional collaboration with Marketing, Presales, Delivery, Finance, and Product teams to ensure seamless customer experience and optimal resource allocation
- Cultivate strategic vendor partnerships at the executive level, negotiating regional agreements, co-investment opportunities, and joint business plans to maximize market impact
- Champion operational excellence by implementing best practices, sales methodologies, and enablement programs while ensuring effective adoption of CRM systems and continuous improvement initiatives
- Partner with Regional Partner and executive leadership to align on organizational priorities, present business updates, and contribute to company-wide strategic decision-making
Required Experience:
- Bachelor's degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred
- Minimum 15 years of progressive sales experience in IT/cybersecurity with at least 10 years in leadership roles
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a senior sales leader (Director level or above) managing multi-level teams
- Proven track record of building, scaling, and leading sales organizations that consistently exceed targets
- Demonstrated success managing annual revenue targets of $50M+ through multiple teams and leaders
- Deep expertise in both commercial/enterprise and public sector (SLED) markets
- Established executive-level relationships and strong reputation within the Northeast business and technology community
- Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or relevant vendor certifications
Travel Requirements:
- Any travel/on site requirements as needed
Physical Requirements:
- Sedentary work
- Substantial movement of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers for a minimum of 8 hours a day
- Required to have close visual acuity to view computer terminal and/or extensive reading for a minimum of 8 hours a day
