We're looking for a dedicated Senior Accounting Manager to join our finance team. This individual will play a key role in leading the company’s accounting operations and manage a team with 2 direct reports. This role will be responsible for ensuring compliance with US GAAP, financial reporting integrity, and building scalable processes to support a growing business. You will be responsible for managing the daily accounting operations, the year-end audit, and will own month-end close. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights that drive business decisions. The ideal candidate brings technical expertise, leadership capability, and a mindset rooted in curiosity, ownership, and continuous improvement.
These are the key ways you’ll contribute and create impact in this role:
Own and manage the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting under US GAAP; capitalized commissions (ASC 606), software development costs (ASC 985), leases (ASC 842), and bad debt provisions (ASC 326)
Lead the year-end audit, including ownership of the audited financial statements, notes, supporting schedules, and act as a primary liaison with external auditors
Support the revenue recognition process in accordance with ASC 606 across multiple product lines, ensuring accuracy and consistency
Assist with corporate tax compliance and filings, including SR&ED, transfer pricing, US sales tax, and HST filings
Manage and mentor a team of 2 Senior Accountants, providing guidance, coaching, and support for their professional development
Partner cross-functionally to provide accounting insights to support budgeting and variance analysis, including leading the monthly financial review
Ask questions, be curious, challenge old ways of thinking and driving continuous improvement in how accounting supports the business
🚀 The Foundation for Success - These are the experiences and strengths that will set you up for success in this role:
Active CPA designation is required in addition to a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Minimum of 7 years of relevant accounting experience with 1-2 years being a direct manager and a mix of Big 4 audit and industry experience
Strong familiarity with US GAAP or IFRS accounting principles and experience with complex financial reporting in a multi-entity and multi-currency environment
Proficiency in Netsuite and Google Sheets is preferred
Exceptional analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team
