Overview

As an Account Executive at Instacart, you will be the primary relationship holder with our retail partners. You’ll nurture relationships, negotiate critical agreements, and drive strategic partnerships that fuel our mutual growth. Every day, you’ll engage in work that amplifies our overarching business goals, demonstrating a keen understanding of Instacart’s strategic position and trajectory. You’ll join the Retail Business Development team, a pivotal group within Instacart that spearheads the development and deepening of our partnerships with retailers across North America. This team's innovative strategies and dynamic industry relationships directly contribute to the shaping of our market presence and commercial success.

About the Job

  • Insightful Analysis: Leveraging large data sets to extract key business insights, shaping scalable growth strategies and actionable execution plans.
  • Critical Thinking: Anticipating problems and their causes prior to or as they occur. Identifying a range of visible and ambiguous issues, driving solutions across them.
  • Strategic Planning: Building partnership plans that cover the full relationship, while developing longer-term plans that align internal and external strategies.
  • Developing Strategic Narratives: Simplifying complex situations into digestible client-ready stories and materials.
  • Communication and Stakeholder Management: Owning day-to-day relationships across internal/external organizations, and growing relationships with senior stakeholders. Proactively communicating as the voice of the business.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Proven ability to work in a multifunctional environment and effectively manage projects to advance partnership objectives.

About You

Minimum Qualifications

  • 7+ years of relevant experience, with a robust background in business development or relationship management.
  • Ability to engage with and influence mid-level executives.
  • Mastery in communicating complex ideas effectively, tailored for all audiences.
  • Skilled in large-scale data analysis and able to derive actionable insights from it.
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and evolving business landscapes.
  • Proven stakeholder management skills, capable of managing relationships both internally and externally.
  • Excellent time management and rapid response capabilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • An MBA.
  • Experience in the retail or e-commerce sector is a plus.
  • Demonstrated resilience and creativity in problem-solving.
  • Natural ability to inspire and energize partners and team members alike.
  • Willingness and ability to travel as needed to meet strategic goals.

Instacart provides highly market-competitive compensation and benefits in each location where our employees work. This role is remote and the base pay range for a successful candidate is dependent on their permanent work location. Please review our Flex First remote work policy here. Currently, we are only hiring in the following provinces: Ontario, Alberta, British Columbia, and Nova Scotia.

Offers may vary based on many factors, such as candidate experience and skills required for the role. Additionally, this role is eligible for a new hire equity grant as well as annual refresh grants. Please read more about our benefits offerings here.

For Canadian based candidates, the base pay ranges for a successful candidate are listed below.
