Summary/Overview:

KBRA Europe is seeking a Director to join KBRA’s global Credit Policy team in our Dublin office. Credit Policy is responsible for creating and maintaining policies and procedures governing the issuance, surveillance and withdrawal of ratings. In addition, Credit Policy is responsible for approving and monitoring rating methodologies, validating models and maintaining rating definitions. Integral to these tasks are monitoring the rating performance (including rating transitions and defaults) across asset classes, evaluating and approving methodological frameworks, and analyzing and validating models used in the rating process. A strong candidate will have extensive experience in credit analysis across sectors and a strong foundation in model assessment.

About the Job:

• Monitor credit rating performance, including rating transitions and defaults, across asset classes and rating methodologies within Europe and globally.
• Research credit performance history and regulatory landscape for the sectors currently rated or intended to be rated by KBRA.
• Evaluate and approve proposed rating methodologies, ensuring consistency with company standards and regulatory expectations.
• Correspond with analytical teams to assess assumptions underpinning methodological frameworks.
• Prepare documentation for model validation review.

You will be successful in this role if you have:

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, economics or math or any quantitative field.
• Advanced degree such as an MBA, MFA or MS is a plus.
• Eight (8) or more years of work experience in credit research or analysis.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential in this position.
• Comfortable with complex Excel Spreadsheets and VBA.
• Familiarity with database tools is a plus, and with Snowflake as well as programming languages such as R and Python is a plus.
• Familiarity with Generative AI tools such as ChatGPT for research, data insights, and general productivity is a plus.
