Our ideal candidate will have
- Customer Success, Account Management, Client Services 또는 이와 유사한 고객 대응 역할에서 5년 이상의 경험을 보유하신 분으로, 특히 기술 인프라, 클라우드, 데이터 관련 제품을 사용하는 고객을 담당해 본 경험을 함께 보유하신 분
- 고객을 대신해 적극적으로 목소리를 내고 옹호하는 데에 열정을 가지신 분으로, MongoDB 내에서 고객 팀의 연장선 역할을 수행하실 수 있는 분
- 기술에 대한 높은 관심과 이해도를 갖추신 분, MongoDB와 데이터베이스에 대해서 입사 후 충분히 배우실 수 있지만, 저희의 고객과 제품은 본질적으로 기술 중심이기 때문에 컴퓨팅, 클라우드, 데이터베이스와 같은 기본 개념을 이해하고 지속적으로 학습하려는 호기심을 갖추신 분
- 현대적인 인프라, 클라우드, 데이터 관련 기술을 이해하고 고객과 기술 조직 사이에서 가교 역할을 할 수 있을 만큼 기술적 기반을 갖추신 분으로, 컴퓨터공학, 공학 등 관련 기술 학위 또는 이에 상응하는 실무 경험(예: 기술 지원, 구현 및 딜리버리, 소프트웨어 엔지니어링, 솔루션 아키텍트/프리세일즈 엔지니어, 테크니컬 프로덕트 매니지먼트, 기술 기반 SaaS/인프라 기업에서의 Customer Success 경험 등)을 바탕으로 기술과 비즈니스를 함께 이해하실 수 있으며, 기술 경력은 고객 대응 경험을 보완하는 수준으로 보유하시고 엔지니어 및 아키텍트와 논의가 가능한 수준으로 이해하면서도 최종적으로는 고객 가치와 비즈니스 임팩트에 초점을 맞추실 수 있는 분

On a given day in this role you will
- 담당 고객의 전략적 자문 파트너로서 MongoDB 베스트 프랙티스와 전반적인 기술 전략에 대해 안내합니다. 이를 위해 단독 혹은 내부 MongoDB 팀원과 함께 고객 교육 세션을 진행하고, 고객의 기술 환경 및 MongoDB 사용 비용을 최적화하는 전략을 제안하며, MongoDB 제품 기능과 활용 방안을 추천하여 고객의 Time to Value와 성장 속도를 높이게 됩니다. 또한 아키텍트, 개발자, 운영 담당자 등 기술 이해관계자와의 논의에도 능동적으로 참여합니다.
- 고객으로부터 피드백을 수집하고 주요 장애 요인을 파악하여 영업, 제품 엔지니어링, Professional Services, 리더십 등 내부 팀에 공유함으로써 MongoDB 제품과 Go‑to‑Market 조직이 더 강력해질 수 있도록 인사이트를 제공합니다.
- 고객과 제품 엔지니어링 조직을 연결하는 역할을 수행합니다. 현장에서 들은 고객의 요구와 사용 패턴을 바탕으로 새로운 솔루션을 함께 고민하고, Product 팀이 향후 로드맵을 수립하는 데 필요한 정보와 관점을 제공하는 중요한 역할을 맡게 됩니다.
- 비즈니스에 재무적 영향을 미치는 장애 상황부터, 핵심 애플리케이션을 위한 MongoDB 아키텍처 설계 지원까지 다양한 이슈를 주도적으로 해결합니다. 고객과 MongoDB 모두에게 최선의 해답을 찾기 위해 에스컬레이션을 조율하고, 이해관계자 간 의사소통을 정리하며, 복잡한 상황을 안정적으로 디에스컬레이션하는 역할을 수행합니다.
- 담당 포트폴리오 전반에 걸쳐 3개 분기 이상을 내다보는 어카운트 플랜을 수립하고 실행합니다. 이를 위해 매출, 사용량, 성능, 기능 활용도 등 상업적·기술적 신호를 종합적으로 분석하여 리스크를 줄이고 성장 기회를 극대화합니다.
- 전략 고객을 대상으로 대면 Executive Business Review를 리드하며, C‑레벨과 기술 리더를 포함한 주요 의사결정자와 함께 비즈니스 목표를 정렬하고 상호 합의된 성공 계획(Success Plan)을 수립합니다.
- Customer Success 프로그램을 함께 구축하는 내부 전략 프로젝트에 참여합니다. MongoDB의 Customer Success Manager는 강한 비즈니스 감각을 바탕으로 베스트 프랙티스, 신규 프로세스, 교육 및 Enablement 콘텐츠를 정의하고 조직 전체에 전파하는 데 기여하게 됩니다.
- Salesforce 등 내부 시스템에 모든 고객 활동과 주요 논의 내용을 정확하고 일관되게 기록합니다.
- MongoDB Atlas 내 여러 지표를 기반으로 고객의 건강 상태를 파악하고, 이를 리더십 및 관련 팀에 공유하여 고객 참여 전략을 지속적으로 개선합니다. 제품이 진화함에 따라 어떤 신호가 건강하거나 위험한 계정의 특징을 나타내는지 정의하고, 이에 맞춰 Customer Success의 참여 방식을 조정하는 데 중요한 역할을 하게 됩니다.
- 담당 지역의 Sales Leadership 및 Account Executive와 긴밀하게 협력하여 비즈니스 성과를 공유하고, Customer Success와의 협업 모범 사례 및 프로그램 변경 사항을 교육·전파합니다.
- 담당 포트폴리오의 이탈(Churn) 및 성장(Growth)을 예측하고, 이를 근거로 시니어 리더십 팀에 전망과 리스크를 보고합니다.

About the role
Senior Customer Success Managers / Customer Success Managers at MongoDB combine a strong customer focus with curiosity about modern data and cloud technologies. You will thrive in this role if you are comfortable with ambiguity, can operate autonomously, and enjoy collaborating across teams to drive meaningful customer outcomes. In this role, you will serve as a primary point of contact for MongoDB end users, drawing on your technical aptitude and account management experience while coordinating the broader account team across Sales, Professional Services, Solutions Architects, and other internal partners.
The experience level for this position is flexible and may be considered at the Customer Success Manager or Senior Customer Success Manager.
We are looking to speak to candidates who are based in South Korea for our hybrid working model.
Our ideal candidate will have
- 5+ years experience working in a Customer Success, Account Management, Client Services or other similarly customer-centric role, ideally with customers using technical, infrastructure, or cloud products.
- A background and passion for advocating on behalf of your customers, acting as an extension of our customers’ team within MongoDB.
- A mind for technology. We will teach you about MongoDB and databases, but our customers and product are inherently technical and you should have an aptitude and curiosity to learn about those concepts, including core computing, cloud, and database fundamentals.
- A solid technical foundation that enables you to work confidently with modern infrastructure, cloud, and data technologies. This could come from a technical degree (for example Computer Science or Engineering) or equivalent hands-on technical experience (for example in support, implementation and delivery, software engineering, solutions architecture or pre-sales engineering, technical product management, or Customer Success at a technical, infrastructure-related, mission‑critical product company). Your technical experience should complement, not outweigh, your customer-facing background; you are able to go deep enough to advise technical stakeholders while still anchoring on customer outcomes and business value.
- The ability to act with a high level of autonomy. You will be expected to take full ownership of your customer portfolio and make key decisions to drive effective customer outcomes, including deciding when to include our executive team or C‑suite in customer escalations, how to de‑risk or de‑escalate customer issues and conflict, and how to advocate to internal teams including Sales and Professional Services.
- An entrepreneurial mindset. You are comfortable improving existing ways of working and, where needed, helping to shape new processes or practices to ensure we best serve this customer segment.
- Team player mindset and a passion for collaboration. This role will work with some of our most strategic growth customers and must align closely to Sales, Professional Services, Technical Services, and the broader MongoDB ecosystem.
On a given day in this role you will
- Work as a strategic advisor to your customer, providing them with guidance on MongoDB best practices and their overall technology strategy. This could include running enablement sessions alone or with other internal MongoDB team members, advising the customer on strategies to optimize their technical environment or current spend with MongoDB, positioning and recommending product features and best practices to accelerate customers’ time to value and growth, and participating in technically oriented discussions with architects, developers, and operations teams.
- Collect feedback and identify roadblocks from customers to inform internal teams including Sales, Product, Professional Services, and Leadership on how MongoDB can build a stronger product and go‑to‑market organization.
- Act as the link between our customers and product engineering to develop new innovative solutions. You will be key in building the future roadmap of our product by acting as the Product team’s eyes and ears in the field.
- De‑escalate and resolve critical customer issues and complaints by finding the best possible solution for both the customer and MongoDB. This could include anything from navigating a customer outage that has a financial impact on their business to helping an application team devise a custom MongoDB solution or implementation for their critical application.
- Build and execute account plans to mitigate risk and drive growth 3+ quarters out across your portfolio, integrating both commercial and technical signals such as usage, performance, and adoption patterns.
- Lead in‑person executive business reviews for strategic customers in your portfolio, including interfacing with C‑suite executives and other technical leaders to align to business objectives and agree to a mutual success plan.
- Work on strategic internal projects to help build the Customer Success program. Our expectation is that anyone in this role has strong business acumen and the ability to create and teach best practices, new processes, and enablement to the broader organization.
- Document all customer interactions in internal systems, such as Salesforce and other customer data tools.
- Provide feedback and guidance to leadership on key signals within MongoDB Atlas that indicate healthy or unhealthy customer accounts. As our product evolves, we will need to be constantly adjusting our engagement strategies based on these signals, which you will be in the best position to identify, interpret, and share back with internal teams.
- Manage the relationship with Sales Leadership and Account Executives in your territory, including reporting on business performance, training on best practices, and rolling out program updates to ensure sales people and leaders are abreast of best practices for interacting with Customer Success.
- Forecast expected churn and growth to your senior leadership team.
