At the core of Omni’s platform is a built-in semantic layer that ensures consistency, trust, and AI readiness.
Headquartered in San Francisco, Omni has office hubs in Santa Cruz, Philadelphia, Dublin, and Sydney, with team members around the world. The company has raised $97M in funding from leading investors including ICONIQ Growth, Theory Ventures, First Round Capital, Redpoint Ventures, Google Ventures, Snowflake Ventures, and Databricks Ventures.
We’re hiring a Controller to own and scale Omni’s accounting function as the company enters its next phase of growth. This is a senior, hands-on role for someone who thrives in complex environments and wants to build a best-in-class accounting organization that can support audits, M&A, and global expansion.
You will be responsible for getting Omni fully audit ready, helping select and manage an audit partner, and leading our first annual audit. You’ll partner closely with the VP of Finance to design accounting processes, policies, and systems that scale, while also mentoring a growing accounting team and staying close to the details yourself. This role blends deep technical accounting judgment with pragmatic execution—no task is beneath you, and you’re excited to use modern tools and AI to build a lean, high-quality function. This role is the owner of accounting judgments and policies and serves as Omni’s primary accounting authority with auditors and external advisors.
Lead Omni’s audit readiness efforts end-to-end, including internal controls, documentation, auditor selection, and execution of our first external audit.
Own complex accounting areas across revenue recognition, commissions capitalization, business combinations, leases, income taxes, and stock-based compensation, developing clear policies and defensible positions.
Manage accounting across multiple legal entities, currencies, and jurisdictions, including intercompany transactions, FX, and statutory requirements.
Partner with Finance leadership on international expansion, including entity setup and operating model decisions (e.g., cost-plus vs alternatives).
Lead and continuously improve the monthly close process, with a goal of achieving a sub-5-business-day close.
Own the accounting systems roadmap, including evaluation, implementation, and optimization of ERP, revenue, and close tooling.
Mentor and develop the Sr. Accounting Manager and help design the right accounting team, processes, and systems for the company’s next stage.
Support M&A activity from an accounting perspective, including diligence, purchase accounting, and post-close integration.
8–12+ years of progressive accounting experience, including senior roles at high-growth B2B SaaS companies.
Proven experience getting a company audit ready and leading external audits.
Strong technical accounting judgment, particularly in SaaS revenue models, commissions, M&A, and multi-entity environments.
Experience operating across international subsidiaries, currencies, and compliance regimes.
A roll-up-your-sleeves mindset with the ability to balance strategy and execution.
CPA strongly preferred.
Build the accounting foundation for a fast-growing, category-defining SaaS company
High ownership, real impact, and close partnership with executive leadership
