This is a high-impact role for a legal leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, can think across multiple regulatory frameworks, and is passionate about building and mentoring legal talent.

This role is based in our Menlo Park, CA, New York, NY, or Washington, DC office(s), with in-person attendance expected at least 4 days per week.

At Robinhood, we believe in the power of in-person work to accelerate progress, spark innovation, and strengthen community. Our office experience is intentional, energizing, and designed to fully support high-performing teams.

What you’ll do

  • Lead and manage a team of product and regulatory attorneys supporting multiple areas of Robinhood’s business.
  • Provide practical, solutions-oriented legal advice to cross-functional teams on a broad range of regulatory issues, including banking, credit, investment advisory, asset management, brokerage and corporate strategy.
  • Partner closely with compliance, product, operations, and executive leadership to identify legal risks and drive mitigation strategies.
  • Support regulatory engagement and examinations as needed.
  • Help build scalable legal processes and frameworks to support a rapidly evolving financial technology company.
  • Mentor and grow team members while promoting a strong culture of collaboration, accountability, and inclusion.

What you bring

  • J.D. and membership in at least one U.S. state bar in good standing.
  • 12+ years of relevant legal experience, with a strong background in financial regulatory law across multiple areas such as banking, credit, investment advisory, asset management , or broker-dealer regulation.
  • Experience managing legal professionals or cross-functional teams, with a track record of developing talent and delivering results.
  • Ability to navigate complex legal and regulatory issues while delivering clear, actionable guidance.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-growth, and highly regulated environment.
  • Strong communication skills and a business-oriented mindset.
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly develop fluency in new substantive areas and effectively lead and collaborate with team members who bring deep subject-matter expertise.

Leadership expectations

Our ambitious roadmap requires a great culture shaped by exceptional leaders. Here’s what we expect from them:

  • Drive high performance by setting clear, focused goals, giving real-time feedback, stretching top talent, and scaling impact through focus, innovation, and tech.
  • Hire and retain top talent by setting a high bar, hiring only those who raise it, investing in onboarding, and addressing talent issues quickly and fairly.
  • Create community by connecting work to purpose, removing friction while prioritizing safety, building trust and inclusion, and leading from the front with integrity.

What we offer

  • Challenging, high-impact work to grow your career.
  • Performance-driven compensation with multipliers for outsized impact, bonus programs, equity ownership, and 401(k) matching.
  • Best-in-class benefits to fuel your work, including 100% paid health insurance for employees with 90% coverage for dependents.
