The Lifecycle Marketing Specialist will own the strategy and execution of user engagement across the full lifecycle, from activation and onboarding through retention and reactivation. This role is responsible for designing, building, and optimizing multi-channel lifecycle programs that drive consistent usage, habit formation, and long-term loyalty.
This is a hands-on, strategic role working closely with Product, Data, Engineering, Marketing Ops, and Sales. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, systems-oriented, and experienced in building scalable lifecycle programs powered by behavioral data, experimentation, and personalization.
Develop and lead lifecycle engagement strategies across activation, onboarding, engagement, retention, and winback
Design motivating, human-centered lifecycle messaging that scales across diverse user segments and use cases
Ensure lifecycle programs support both user value realization and business objectives
Own lifecycle orchestration within Iterable, including:
Triggered journeys based on user behavior and milestones
Onboarding, adoption, habit-building, and reactivation flows
Continuous optimization of timing, logic, and messaging
Act as the subject matter expert for lifecycle automation strategy and execution
Own lifecycle reporting and analysis using Mixpanel, including:
Funnel analysis to identify drop-off points
Cohort analysis to inform retention strategies
Scalable dashboards to track lifecycle performance
Translate behavioral data into clear insights and optimization recommendations
Partner with Marketing Operations to ensure clean, scalable lifecycle data
Support audience segmentation, lifecycle stage definitions, property governance, and suppression logic
Ensure data integrity across lifecycle tools and reporting systems
Develop engagement strategies beyond email and push notifications, including:
Slack nudges to drive participation and invitations
Microsoft Teams reminders to improve attendance and follow-through
Zoom post-session follow-ups to sustain engagement after live events
Partner closely with Product and Engineering to align lifecycle strategy with product features and data instrumentation
Collaborate with UX to define message moments, tone, and in-app engagement experiences
Work with Marketing Ops to ensure lifecycle scalability, governance, and tooling alignment
3+ years of experience in Lifecycle, CRM, or Engagement Marketing
Experience and deep knowledge of Mixpanel and Iterable
Background in B2B SaaS, health, or wellness technology is a nice-to-have.
Hands-on experience with lifecycle and marketing automation platforms (Iterable, HubSpot, Braze, Marketo, or similar).
Strong analytical skills with the ability to turn data into actionable insights (SQL familiarity is a plus)
Deep understanding of segmentation, A/B testing, and lifecycle optimization best practices
Experience building messaging strategies for multiple user types (e.g., admins vs. end users)
Ownership-driven with a strong bias toward execution and iteration
Highly analytical, structured, and detail-oriented
Proactive self-starter who thrives in fast-paced, cross-functional environments
Clear and confident communicator with strong written and verbal skills
Improved activation rates and faster achievement of onboarding “aha” moments
Increased Weekly Active Users (WAU) and reduced churn across user segments
Strong lifecycle campaign performance (open rates, CTRs, conversions)
Consistent experimentation cadence driving measurable improvements
Actionable insights that influence product and marketing roadmaps
