Picnic is a fast-growing corporate meal delivery and catering service transforming how teams eat at work. By partnering with top local food halls and restaurants, we bring high-quality meals to offices in a way that drives steady, predictable demand for our restaurant partners while giving companies a premium lunch experience without the premium cost. Teams at NVIDIA, SpaceX, Polymarket, Silna Health, and many others rely on Picnic every day and consistently rave about the service.
Our world-class technology team powers everything we do with proprietary software that runs our operation end -to end, including our ordering app, business portal, and suite of delivery tools. We have grown 16x in the last year, continue to double every quarter, and are rapidly expanding into all major US cities.
We’re looking for a Senior Product Designer to lead design on our Delivery Team.
You’ll be responsible for:
Designing a courier app that delivers: Build an intuitive mobile app that guides couriers through complex workflows in the simplest way possible. From smart routing and real-time instructions to clear pickup and drop-off flows, your designs will remove friction from every step of the journey and help couriers deliver meals accurately and on time.
Building tools that power our delivery network: Create a suite of delivery management products that give our dispatch team total visibility and control. From interactive maps and live dashboards to operational tools that coordinate a fast-growing fleet, your work will turn operational complexity into simple, actionable systems that keep our network running smoothly at scale.
Shaping end-to-end delivery workflows: Apply service design thinking and on-the-ground user research to understand and improve how our delivery workflows function across digital and physical touchpoints. You'll come up with novel solutions to complex problems that account for real-world delivery processes, operational constraints, and the need to scale.
Leveraging AI to supercharge how we design, sell, and support: Explore, design, and implement AI-powered solutions for our customers as well as internal tools for our design team. Our goal is to smartly leverage AI to scale our business and make smarter, faster decisions.
Collaborating deeply with product managers, engineers, and operations: Iteratively plan, build, test, and launch products that solve real user problems and push the business forward.
Participating in design critiques and cross-functional reviews: Refine ideas, gather rapid feedback, and iterate on high-impact solutions.
Understanding and championing our users: Conduct discovery research to surface user insights that influences your team's strategy and prioritizing usability by testing your designs with real users.
Enhancing our design system: Contribute and improve core patterns that support consistency across our products.
Work in a booming industry: The US catering and corporate meal market is already worth more than 70 billion dollars and is projected to surpass 130 billion dollars in the coming decade. Picnic is growing 16 times year over year, scaling quickly across major US cities, and is positioned to capture a significant share of this rapidly expanding market.
Get in early and be rewarded: You will be awarded a generous amount of equity as part of your compensation (with opportunities to get more through exceptional performance). As a pre-IPO company this means potential for a large upside.
Work on meaningful challenges: You will help solve complex delivery and logistics problems that require creativity, technical depth, and clear thinking, making the work both intellectually demanding and highly rewarding.
Collaborate and grow with a skilled team: You will receive support and guidance from experienced colleagues and managers, helping you to learn, grow, and achieve your goals.
Solid benefits: Our benefits include health, dental, and vision insurance, 401k, commuter benefits (e.g. a parking pass or pre-tax metro card depending on your city), and generous PTO.
This role is required to be in office 5 days a week. As a company that aspires to innovate, reinvent an industry, and move fast, we value in-person collaboration and team co-location and hope you do too!
The base salary range for this role is $182,000 - $230,000.
Actual compensation will be determined on an individual basis and may vary depending on experience, skills, and qualifications.
Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package. You may also be eligible for equity awards and an annual performance-based bonus.
