Systems Engineer – Platform Engineer (VT)

Experience: 3-6 years of relevant IT or systems engineering experience
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
Residence: Current U.S. residence and within U.S. for 3 of the past 5 years
Location: Burlington, VT (Onsite)
Trail Pass: U.S. Citizenship required to obtain a Public Trust clearance

About the Role

Via Logic LLC is seeking a Platform Engineer to support the architecture, deployment, and maintenance of enterprise on-premises and hybrid systems.
This position provides hands-on experience working alongside senior engineers to troubleshoot issues, automate platform tasks, and contribute to system integration across Windows and Linux environments.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong curiosity, problem-solving ability, and a passion for learning modern cloud and infrastructure technologies.

Core Responsibilities

• Assist in the setup, configuration, and maintenance of enterprise systems and servers (Windows & Linux).
• Support deployment and monitoring of applications and infrastructure components in hybrid environments.
• Participate in troubleshooting and performance-tuning efforts to improve system reliability and efficiency.
• Contribute to automation and scripting using Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
• Learn and assist in infrastructure-as-code (IaC) and configuration management tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
• Document system configurations, runbooks, and operational processes.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to implement platform improvements and apply best practices in security and performance.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related technical field.
• 3-6 years of IT or systems administration experience (internship, co-op, or full-time).
• Familiarity with Windows and/or Linux environments.
• Basic knowledge of scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, or Bash).
• Exposure to virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, or similar).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an eagerness to learn.
• U.S. Citizenship required (Public Trust eligibility).
