Visa Direct is a payment service that Visa provides to clients (sending and receiving financial institutions, processors, merchants, and service providers) to facilitate fund transfers/disbursements to Visa accounts around the world using push payment technology. Visa Direct consumer and business applications include person-to-person (P2P) transfers, person-to-micro-business transfers (e.g., payouts to gig economy providers), funds disbursement (e.g., insurance claim disbursements), and more. The push payments market is estimated to be more than 80 Trillion of payment volume globally.
We are seeking a Product Manager who is passionate about building innovative payment solutions, delivering exceptional client experiences, and leveraging cutting-edge technologies like APIs and Generative AI. This role is central to Visa’s strategy to deliver world-class Visa Direct products to market. You will work in a fast-paced environment, balancing strategic thinking with hands-on execution, and collaborating across global teams to create products that redefine money movement.
Essential Functions
Product Strategy & Planning
Support the development of product strategy, go-to-market plans, and product design documents (concept document, business case, product requirements).
Product Knowledge & Market Insights
Become deeply knowledgeable about Visa Direct and help drive the development of new product features and functionality, leveraging existing capabilities where appropriate.
Opportunity Identification
Work with Visa Direct regional teams to identify new product and service opportunities and document business requirements for new features and enhancements.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Collaborate with internal Visa teams (regional teams, technology, client services, risk, and other product groups) to define and execute a cohesive strategy for specific products or features.
Technical Expertise
Deep understanding of API design (REST/GraphQL), OpenAPI/Swagger, OAuth 2.0, and security best practices for payment systems, familiarity with cloud architecture (Azure/AWS), microservices, and integration patterns to enable meaningful collaboration with engineering teams.
Data-Driven Decision Making
Ability to analyze product performance metrics, client usage data, and market trends to inform roadmap decisions and continuous improvement.
Product Lifecycle Ownership
Proven experience managing products end-to-end—ideation, MVP, launch, scaling, and sunsetting—with adaptability to thrive in ambiguity and pivot strategies as needed.
Cross-Functional Leadership
Strong ability to align engineering, sales, legal, and compliance teams, influencing without authority to deliver cohesive product strategies.
Innovation with Generative AI
Experience leveraging AI tools (Copilot, Azure OpenAI, OpenAI, Perplexity) to automate workflows and deliver innovative product features.
Reporting & Analytics
Create regular reporting and analytics to monitor key product trends and inform continuous improvement.
Agile Tools
Working knowledge of Agile tools such as JIRA Align and Confluence Wiki preferred.
This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.
