This role offers the opportunity to lead a high‑visibility function and directly influence strategic priorities across the organization. The Senior Manager will play a key role in driving Agile transformation, improving operational efficiency, and strengthening a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement. Partnering closely with senior leadership, this position provides the ability to shape long‑term direction while owning high‑impact, cross‑functional initiatives. It also offers the chance to mentor and develop emerging leaders, build a strong talent pipeline, and make a meaningful contribution to team growth and overall organizational success. With broad exposure and room for expanded responsibilities, this role provides significant professional growth and advancement potential.    

The Work itself: 

  • Design code and systems that touch 40% of the world population while influencing Visa’s internal standards for scalability, security, and reusability 
  • Collaborate multi-functionally to create design artifacts and develop best-in-class software solutions for multiple Visa technical offerings 
  • Actively contribute to product quality improvements, valuable service technology, and new business flows in diverse agile squads 
  • Develop robust and scalable products intended for a myriad of customers including end-user merchants, b2b, and business to government solutions. 
  • Leverage innovative technologies to build the next generation of Payment Services, Transaction Platforms, Real-Time Payments, and Buy Now Pay Later Technology 
  • Opportunities to make a difference on a global or local scale through mentorship and continued learning opportunities 

Essential Functions:

  • Provide strategic leadership to managers and staff, setting clear goals, coaching for high performance, and supporting career development while reinforcing Agile mindsets and continuous learning.
  • Drive Agile execution and operational excellence by removing impediments, overseeing daily workflows, ensuring quality and compliance, and using KPIs and sprint data to guide decisions and improve performance.
  • Translate organizational strategy into actionable plans, prioritizing initiatives, aligning sprint goals with strategic outcomes, and ensuring the team delivers measurable results.
  • Lead cross‑functional collaboration with Product, Engineering, HR, Finance, and Operations to refine requirements, manage backlogs, coordinate delivery, and reduce interdepartmental friction.
  • Manage major projects and risks, providing clear communication to leadership, monitoring timelines and scope, escalating issues appropriately, and implementing mitigation plans to ensure successful execution.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.

Basic Qualifications:
8+ years of relevant work experience and a Bachelors degree, OR 11+ years of relevant work experience

Preferred Qualifications:
9 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or 7 or more relevant years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 3 or more years of experience with a PhD
Bachelor’s degree required (Business, Management, Engineering, or related field) Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
7+ years of progressive leadership experience, including managing managers, supervisors, or multi‑disciplinary teams.
Strong experience with Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, or SAFe), including backlog management, sprint planning, and continuous improvement practices.
Demonstrated ability to lead high‑performing teams, provide coaching, set goals, and drive accountability.

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 162,500.00 to 235,950.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401 (k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.
