Block Labs·2 days ago
Block Labs is a premier technology studio operating at the bleeding edge of Web3, Artificial Intelligence, and iGaming. We don't just ship features; we engineer high-scale, production-grade platforms that power the next generation of digital products.
We are a collective of senior engineers, product strategists, and builders who refuse to compromise on architecture. Whether we are designing autonomous multi-agent AI systems, building decentralized financial infrastructure, or architecting high-frequency iGaming platforms, our standard is excellence.
We move fast, but we build for the long term. If you are looking to work alongside a team that values deep technical expertise, thoughtful system design, and product ownership, Block Labs is where you belong.
Block Labs is building an organization where data and AI are core to how decisions are made and executed. We are hiring a Chief Data & AI Officer (CDAO) to own the company’s intelligence layer — spanning data foundations, decision systems, experimentation, and AI-driven execution.
This is an executive role with accountability for how information is captured, validated, and translated into action across the business. The CDAO ensures that leadership operates on consistent, decision-ready signals and that AI systems are deployed as reliable, production-grade infrastructure.
Define and maintain canonical metrics used across the business
Own metric logic, lineage, and consistency across teams
Certify executive- and board-level KPIs
Eliminate conflicting definitions and informal reporting
Ensure that key metrics are tied to explicit actions and response protocols
Design reporting systems that support operational and strategic decisions
Maintain clarity around thresholds, ownership, and escalation paths
Own the roadmap for AI models, agents, and automated decision workflows
Ensure AI systems are production-grade, observable, and maintainable
Partner with engineering and product to embed AI into core workflows
Establish end-to-end telemetry across product, growth, payments, risk, and operations
Maintain unified event schemas and data contracts
Ensure real-time or near-real-time visibility into critical system behaviour
Govern experimentation frameworks, including A/B testing and causal analysis
Validate statistical integrity of experiments and model outcomes
Track and improve learning velocity through experimentation throughput and time-to-decision
Own data privacy, model risk, and AI governance practices
Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory and ethical standards
Define controls for autonomous and semi-autonomous systems
Provide strategic oversight to data engineering and AI teams
Ensure platforms are scalable, reliable, and fit for real-time decisioning
Prioritize leverage, simplicity, and long-term maintainability in system design
Proven experience building production-grade data and AI platforms
Comfortable operating at both executive and technical depth
Strong judgment around statistical validity, experimentation, and model reliability
Experience deploying AI systems beyond pilot stage into core business workflows
Values clarity, rigor, and operational impact over volume of reporting or tooling
Motivated by building systems that improve decision quality at scale
Operates as a peer to other C-suite leaders
Partners with product, engineering, growth, and operations to align data and decision systems
Represents data and AI integrity at executive and board level
Leadership decisions are based on consistent, certified metrics
AI systems meaningfully automate or augment decision-making
Experiments translate reliably into business action
What kind of culture can I expect?
Mature, mission-driven, and low-ego. We value clarity over noise, outcomes over theatrics, and pace without chaos. If you’re one of the smartest minds in your craft and want to build with other experts, you’ll feel at home here.
