Job Description:
Copia seeks an Associate, Capital Markets with transaction experience in energy, infrastructure, or real estate. Preferred backgrounds include developers, operating companies, private equity, management consulting, or banking. The ideal candidate will be passionate about renewables and skilled in developing financial models to support and structure transactions for growing our renewable asset portfolio.
The Associate, Capital Markets will report directly to the Managing Director, Capital Markets working closely with Copia’s development, asset management, energy markets, legal, and finance teams in an individual contributor capacity.
Key Responsibilities:
· Support the execution and structuring of financing transactions, including construction and term debt, tax equity, corporate facilities, minority equity sales and interest rate management.
· Develop and maintain comprehensive financial models for renewable energy projects, including underwriting analysis and return sensitivities.
· Manage financial due diligence processes from initial discussions to closing, working closely with consultants, internal and external counsel, technical, and development teams.
· Review project documentation used to support consultant reports and due diligence responses.
· Coordinate deliverables and reporting across cross-functional teams in support of financial close.
· Communicate professionally with diverse internal and external stakeholders, including C-level executives, financing institutions, and investors.
· Support the coordination of amendments, consents, and other requests on executed financing agreements.
· Work collaboratively across the business to provide financing guidance and support, including potential project acquisitions and offtake pricing with Commercial teams.

Minimum Qualifications:
· 2-4+ years of experience with a focus on project finance
· 1+ years of Renewable Energy experience
· Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA or CFA is a plus
· Strong understanding of renewable energy markets, solar energy technologies, and project finance principles
· Proficiency and proven experience with Microsoft Office, including advanced proficiency in PowerPoint & Excel.
· Ability to work in the Washington, D.C. office a minimum of 3 days per week.
· Ability to travel up to 15%.
