Our client is a funded, early-stage e-commerce apparel company founded by a former senior product leader from a globally recognized athletic apparel brand. The company is building its financial and operational foundation from the ground up in preparation for an upcoming commercial launch.
Role Overview
We are hiring a Full-Service E-Commerce Accountant to join and work directly with one of our apparel clients. This role is highly hands-on and execution-focused. You will be responsible for performing all day-to-day accounting, reconciliations, and month-end close activities, with direct support and oversight from our client's leadership.
Core Accounting & Close
- Maintain complete and accurate books in QuickBooks Online
- Perform all bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations
- Own the monthly close process from start to finish
- Prepare and maintain supporting schedules and workpapers
- Produce monthly financial statements for internal review
E-Commerce & Platform Accounting
- Manage and maintain Shopify to QuickBooks integrations
- Reconcile Shopify sales, refunds, discounts, and fees to payment processors (e.g., Shopify Payments, Stripe, PayPal)
- Track and reconcile COGS, including product costs, freight, duties, and landed costs
- Support inventory tracking and valuation in coordination with operations
- Monitor refunds, chargebacks, and sales adjustments
Historical Cleanup & Build
- Build and backfill accounting records for prior periods (2025)
- Align accounting activity to the prior-year tax return as a reference point
- Establish and document accounting workflows, assumptions, and controls
Client & Team Collaboration
- Work directly with leadership for review and guidance
- Coordinate with client-side operations contacts to resolve data and process gaps
- Identify process improvements and automation opportunities
- Ensure accounting records are audit- and tax-ready
