We are seeking a dynamic leader to oversee our customs and inbound shipments department, ensuring seamless daily operations and full compliance with country‑specific regulations. In this role, you will help drive our logistics strategy, implement improved systems and processes, and maintain a strong focus on safety, quality, and operational excellence. Accountabilities:
- Organize the customs and inbound shipment department according to the organizational unit’s overall logistics policy and plan, and manage the daily operations.
- Ensure that country specific customs requirements are known, understood and met by the team.
- Contribute to the execution of the logistics policy and plans of the unit, as member of the logistics team.
- Develop and implement optimized and advanced logistics systems and procedures, in line with overall developments in the demand chain process.
- Ensure that the SHEQ management system is in place and complied with, and create a safe and healthy work environment.
- Propose and work within the department budget, monitor and control expenses and report periodically.
- Ensure adequate structures and systems in HRM, create an optimal working climate and manage the department in compliance with Envalior values and requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensures timely and correct filing of the import and export declarations and quarterly reporting to the local customs authorities in The Netherlands, Belgium and Germany.
- Owns the customs related fields in the material master data in SAP and SAP GTS and drives the integrity of these fields.
- Ensures the customs manual and risk matrix is up to date.
- Arrange inbound transportation in a timely, safe and cost effective manner in collaboration with the call-off teams across Europe.
- Arrange transportation for inter-plant movements.
- Ensures and maintains open communication with the customs authorities.
- Ensures demurrage, detention and other inbound related transport costs are kept to a bare minimum.
- Ensures inbound lead times and flows are optimized in time, cost and in modality.
- Actively initiate alignment between the buyers, the call off teams and carriers to be involved in an early stage of the contracting / business flow ensuring a smooth process from a customs and logistics perspective.
