As a Zuora Engineer at GitLab, you will be the core technical owner of our mission-critical finance and accounting applications within the Enterprise Applications team. You will drive how technology supports and transforms our Quote-to-Cash (Q2C), Procure-to-Pay (P2P), and Record-to-Report (R2R) processes, optimizing the systems that power our global subscription revenue. In this role, you will architect scalable billing, subscription management, and revenue recognition solutions on the Zuora platform, and enable high-performance integrations across systems like Salesforce, NetSuite, Stripe, Avalara, and customer-facing web applications. Your work will directly impact the accuracy, compliance, and efficiency of our financial operations, reducing manual effort and improving data integrity for teams across GitLab. You will also partner closely with finance, operations, and engineering stakeholders to define and systematize complex, cross-functional processes that support aggressive company growth. This role offers a unique chance to combine deep Zuora expertise with strategic systems design and hands-on engineering, all within GitLab's remote, asynchronous, and values-driven environment.
The Zuora Engineer is part of the Enterprise Applications Engineering team at GitLab, which focuses on building, scaling, and safeguarding the finance and accounting systems that power our global subscription revenue. We own key initiatives that keep our Quote-to-Cash, Procure-to-Pay, and Record-to-Report processes reliable and efficient, including Zuora Billing and Revenue implementations, integrations with core systems, and ongoing platform optimization. We operate in a highly collaborative, remote-first environment and work asynchronously across multiple regions, guided by GitLab's values of transparency and open communication. We face the challenge of architecting and maintaining highly available, compliant financial workflows while continuously improving system performance, data quality, and user experience across a complex application ecosystem.
Please note that we welcome interest from candidates with varying levels of experience; many successful candidates do not meet every single requirement. Additionally, studies have shown that people from underrepresented groups are less likely to apply to a job unless they meet every single qualification. If you're excited about this role, please apply and allow our recruiters to assess your application.
