HealthLeap builds AI that helps clinicians prioritize patients, surfaces the right data, and gets patients the care they need earlier, so they can leave the hospital sooner.
We integrate with hospital electronic health record systems, screen 100% of patients daily, and risk-rank them in real time. Clinicians at Cedars-Sinai and Penn Medicine start every morning with HealthLeap — with Houston Methodist, Emory, and Intermountain Health deploying now.
Real results: 39% more diagnoses. 4 days earlier detection. $11M/year ROI for our first site at Cedars Sinai. 7× revenue growth in 7 months.
We started with malnutrition. We're expanding to every major condition to ensure no patient falls through the cracks. Sequoia and First Round are backing us to build the platform that screens every patient for everything and drives tangible outcomes.
We're ~15 people. >$7M raised. SF-based, hybrid-friendly. Early enough to shape the product. Late enough to know it works. Results that are changing lives.
Shape how clinicians and hospitals experience HealthLeap.
You'll be the first designer at a company already used daily by clinicians at top hospital systems across the US. No design team exists yet. You'll build it. Brand, product, marketing, sales materials: it all runs through you.
You've done this before. Not at a 500-person company with a design system handed to you. At an early-stage company where you figured out what "good" looked like. You designed the brand, the product, the website, the pitch deck. You can move between a dashboard redesign and a sales one-pager without switching gears. You have taste. You ship.
Own the HealthLeap brand end-to-end. Website, sales decks, investor materials, candidate decks, social presence.
Design the product clinicians use every morning. Dashboard, workflows, data visualization.
Build the design system. Components, patterns, guidelines that scale as the team grows.
Work directly with the CEO on sales materials and the CTO on product.
Turn complex clinical and statistical data into clear, actionable visuals.
Hire and mentor designers when the team grows. For now, you're the team.
4+ years designing both product (UX/UI) and brand/marketing materials
Exceptional craft. Your work makes people stop and say "wow, that's beautiful."
Low ego, high collaboration. You take feedback well, give it kindly, and make everyone around you better.
Storytelling through design. You structure information so it flows. You know what to emphasize, what to cut, when to let the design breathe.
Strong portfolio showing range: product interfaces, brand systems, marketing design
Experience with data visualization. Charts, dashboards, statistical displays that don't confuse.
Taste. You know what good looks like and you don't ship mediocre work.
Healthcare or clinical software experience
Motion design skills
Front-end development skills (even basic HTML/CSS)
Experience designing for enterprise buyers (CMOs, CFOs)
You need a design manager to review your work. Here, you're the design function.
You prefer deep specialization. This role requires range.
Startup unpredictability feels like chaos to you. We find it exciting.
You wait to be told what to do next. We need someone who sees what's needed and does it.
You're looking for a 9-5 with predictable hours. We care about deep work and deep rest (we have a minimum leave policy), but when a hospital go-live is on the line, we show up - even if that means a 60+ hour week.
Intro call (30 min) - Get to know each other, discuss your background and portfolio
Live design session (60-90 min, video) - We'll give you a real design problem. You'll critique what exists, sketch how you'd restructure it, and talk through your thinking. Not pixel-perfect. We want to see how you think and collaborate.
Onsite (3-4 hours in SF) - Meet the team. Case study on your past work. Second design challenge. Culture conversations.
Decision - Same week as onsite
We respect your time. If there's a fit, you'll know fast.
Salary: $145,000 - $265,000 base (depending on experience)
Equity: Meaningful ownership as the first designer
Healthcare: 100% of premiums covered
PTO: Unlimited, with a recommended minimum of 20 days
401(k): 4% match
Equipment: Laptop + budget for your home office
San Francisco, hybrid (Mon/Wed/Fri in office)
