Stanley Consultants is looking for a Senior Plant Electrical Designer for our Austin, Texas office.
We are seeking a skilled Senior Plant Electrical Designer to join our team, specializing in physical design for power plant and industrial plant projects. This role requires in-depth knowledge of industrial construction to develop electrical system designs with minimal, high-level input from engineers. The role requires proficiency in 3D and 2D computer aided design (CAD) software.
What You Will Be Doing:
Electrical Design:
Equipment arrangements.
Underground duct bank layouts.
Conduit and cable tray layouts.
One-lines, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
Installation details.
Lighting and grounding systems.
Produce detailed design drawings for construction, including:
Translate general project requirements into working electrical designs using 3D and 2D CAD software.
Apply knowledge of construction processes and field experience.
Ensure designs align with project specifications, industry standards, and quality control processes. Knowledge of codes and standards include NEC, NFPA, IEEE, API, IBC, IFC.
Validate designs against constructability and maintainability requirements.
Incorporate equipment suppliers’ submittals into electrical designs.
Collaboration:
Work closely with electrical engineers and other team members.
Integrate electrical designs into multi-disciplinary models (e.g., mechanical, structural) for seamless project coordination.
Solicit technical input from equipment and material suppliers.
Assist in mentoring junior designers and engineers on best practices in 3D CAD modeling, power plant design, and industrial plant design.
Quality Assurance:
Participate in design reviews, ensuring accuracy and quality of electrical designs to meet project requirements and industry standards.
Coordinate with the engineering team to resolve design-related issues and support construction activities.
