The Motley Fool is a purpose-driven financial services company on a mission to make the world smarter, happier, and richer. For 30 years we’ve been helping people make better investment decisions through transparency, education, and Foolish fun. We’re a fast-moving, collaborative team that values high-quality work, curiosity, and initiative. We care deeply about what we do, and we’re driven by the impact our work has on real people’s financial futures.
The Role
How would you design and execute retention campaigns so compelling that hundreds of thousands of Motley Fool members choose to renew year after year—not out of habit, but because they're genuinely excited about what's next?
How would you build messaging strategies that inspire members who've already taken the first step toward financial independence to keep going—to stay engaged, take action on recommendations, and build real wealth over time?
The Motley Fool's Retention team is looking for a Direct Response Marketer who will help us scale this critical operation. Put simply: you'll develop and execute high-performing retention campaigns that keep our members engaged, active, and renewing.
Here's the challenge: even people who've already committed to improving their financial future can lose momentum. Life gets busy. The market gets scary. Inaction creeps back in. Your job is to design messaging strategies that cut through all that noise and inspire our members to stay the course—to keep investing, keep learning, and keep taking steps toward financial independence.
We're looking for someone who can flex between developing transformative new marketing concepts and relentlessly optimizing what's already working. Not every big idea will beat the control, but that's the game—and we're looking for someone who thrives on that challenge.
We firmly believe that members who actively use our products will renew. So while much of your work will focus on driving renewals directly, you'll also develop marketing initiatives that inspire members to take action on our recommendations, engage with our premium content, and experience the value that makes renewal an easy decision.
What You'll Be Doing
As a Direct Response Marketer on the Retention team, you will be measured by campaign performance and member response. We care about results: retention rates, renewal rates, and engagement metrics. More specifically, you'll be expected to consistently improve performance and beat the control through disciplined testing and iteration.
Your primary day-to-day responsibilities include:
