PMO & Business Systems Director (Hybrid)

Summary

The PMO & Business Systems Director is a key member of the COO leadership team and is responsible for directing and overseeing the organization's portfolio of projects and performance. Responsible for managing IT solutions back-end business systems development and support, budget, team leadership and cross-functional collaboration, dev/ops planning, risk management/mitigation, API’s, environment planning, vendor management, and supporting the business. We are seeking someone who is well versed in leading through influence, building relationships, gaining trust, creating, and driving process improvements. This position is expected to have a key role in setting the strategy and influencing the roadmap for the company.

Essential Functions

Operations:

• Aligns operational programs and strategies to assist the organization in meeting goals and objectives efficiently.
• Monitors and analyzes performance metrics and summarizes operational data.
• Approves and allocates resources based on business priorities.
• Coordinates with leadership staff to assess and ensure performance growth.

Program Management:

• Develops and directs project management operations and strategic planning to meet organizational goals.
• Provides overall strategic governance for projects by establishing standards, processes, and tools used for effective project delivery.
• Develops project scope, budget, and schedules; and assures projects meet the organization's strategic objectives, performance targets, and needs.
• Prioritizes and determines capacity for company-wide current and future projects.
• Establishes measures to set productivity and quality targets and to assess results for all projects.
• Responds to escalated project issues that may impede project delivery and coordinates solutions.
• Monitors and analyzes project metrics to identify weaknesses or problems and to propose operational improvements and/or cost savings for future projects.
• Establishes project teams and distributes the project workload.
• Sets and manages project expectations.
• Ensure projects are completed on time and within established quality standards.
• Delivers project updates and results to the CEO, leadership team, and/or project sponsors.

IT, Business Systems:

• Deliver projects as defined by the PMO, including identifying risks & mitigations.
• Builds, leads, and coaches multiple delivery teams throughout project life cycles and IT SDLC.
• Manages offshore vendor development teams
• Manages agile sprint planning and delivery
• Lead the technical aspects of process and platform solutions, development, and operations – ERP/CRM platform (MS Dynamics 365)
• Provide profound technical advice and establish relationships with the business stakeholders to be recognized as their trusted advisor
• Identify opportunities for Toastmasters to create solutions that satisfy members and grow the business
• Continuously build knowledge of technical architecture, tools, systems, and languages used across various business partners to ensure clarity amongst all parties

Leadership:

• Assist in team development while holding teams accountable for their commitments and removing roadblocks to their work.
• Contributes to strategic planning, direction, and goal setting for the organization in collaboration with members of the leadership team.
• Supports the mission, goals, objectives, and values of the organization.

Knowledge & Skills:

• Strong grasp of current technologies and business challenges.
• Proven experience in Agile/SCRUM/SAFe/Kanban environments.
• Strong planning, organizational, leadership and execution skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
• Ability to work across programs and projects to ensure technical excellence in support of member experience.
• Proven experience in budget planning and resource management.
• Required Experience in ERP/CRM platforms
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Effective at communicating & building relationships with stakeholders and inspire/motivate staff.
• Proven ability to promote and drive change within an organization.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree
• Ten years of experience in project management
• Six years of experience leading development and operations for Business Systems
• 3+ years’ experience as a Sr. Manager/Director
• Proven experience with contract management and offshore vendors
• Demonstrable experience with architectural principles
• Strong knowledge and demonstrated experience in agile project management using Azure DevOps or Jira.
• Leadership capabilities to work effectively cross-functionally and drive teams to success
• Ability to guide teams to find solutions and solve problems in projects that delivers a win-win
• Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to make effective presentations and communicate technical concepts to non-technical clients

• Must be onsite in a hybrid work schedule (several days a week in Denver office)

Preferred Qualifications

• Project management certification
• Masters in MBA, organization management, or business operations
• Experience with MS Dynamics D365
