Auror·about 1 month ago
At Auror, we’re empowering the retail industry to tackle theft and Organised Retail Crime, a $150 Billion problem globally. It’s high volume crime that’s increasingly organised in nature and is putting people, retailers, and communities at risk every day.
Founded in New Zealand 12 years ago, we’re working with some of the best and largest retailers in the world across the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and the UK.
Auror is connecting people and intelligence to reduce crime. We’re using technology for good.
In partnership with our leading retail partners, we need people with the passion, determination, and innovation required to overcome one of the world's largest problems. If you’re looking to make a difference with and for the people dedicated to stopping crime, for good, then we want you on our team.
We're also embracing the potential of AI to supercharge our impact—whether that's enhancing the way we detect trends, support our customers, or improve internal workflows. As a company, we're committed to responsibly incorporating AI into how we work and what we build, and we encourage all Aurors to be curious about how AI can elevate their work, regardless of role or function.
In this role, you will be responsible for driving the product's growth, strategy, and execution of solutions that transform data into meaningful insights while exploring opportunities to safely and responsibly leverage AI, to ensure we continue to deliver customer outcomes through the Auror product that our customers love. This role is specifically focused on our law enforcement customer base and growing how we integrate with other platforms and ecosystems that support these customers, in particular the Retail Crime Intelligence Hub.
We’re looking for someone who aligns with our philosophy on how to build great products. That is, teams should have a strong understanding of who uses their product, how they use it, and how they feel about it. We believe PMs should be embedded with design and engineering teams, collaborating with cross-functional team members to make sure their product solves the problems they set out to.
Practically, this role will involve:
You’ll be reporting to one of our 2 Product Directors - Chardi Taylor or John Bowker.
I’m originally from South Africa, and five years ago, my family and I made the big move to New Zealand – a place we now call home. My career has been focused on product leadership, working across product strategy, development, and coaching teams to deliver real value to customers. I thrive when collaborating with smart, motivated people, tackling complex problems, and building solutions that make a tangible impact in the community.
When I’m not deep in product discussions or at a Product Aotearoa community event, you’ll find me outdoors with my family, exploring New Zealand’s incredible scenery, or running around after my daughter (who keeps me on my toes!). I also enjoy playing games – whether it’s board games, video games, or anything that brings a bit of friendly competition.
John:
It's been a journey of over 20 years in the tech industry for me. Coming from my early days as a developer in the games industry in South Africa and then Canada; through to Product Management roles in successful Kiwi SaaS B2B organisations.
I'm deeply invested in growing healthy Product habits, from idea to delivery, for Product people as a partner at Colab Cohorts as well as the wider global Product community. I love experimenting with new concepts to help us accelerate work for customers needing productivity gains so they can focus on what matters most to them.
I still have a deep passion for software development and you’ll find me hacking away at side projects, building new canvases or trying to get Alexa to turn on the dishwasher. When I’m not behind a keyboard I adore building large Lego sets or getting out for “a good walk spoiled” at my local golf course with my family.
You’re the ideal candidate if you have/are:
