Job Summary
We are looking for a strategic and highly technical Finance Lead to oversee our accounting, financial planning, and tax functions. You will be responsible for the integrity of our financial records, the efficiency of our tax planning, and the accuracy of our growth forecasts.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle accounting operations, ensuring all financial transactions are recorded in accordance with IFRS/GAAP.
- Oversee and manage the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
- Reporting financial statements including ratios and margins.
- Maintain a robust internal control environment to mitigate financial risk.
- Take primary ownership of all tax-related matters, including corporate income tax, VAT, and withholding taxes.
- Ensure 100% compliance with local and international tax regulations to avoid penalties.
- Manage tax audits and maintain professional relationships with regulatory bodies.
- Lead the preparation of annual budgets and rolling forecasts.
- Analyze financial performance against KPIs, highlighting variances and suggesting corrective actions.
- Conduct specialized financial research to support strategic decision-making.
- Perform complex payroll calculations, including gross-to-net, benefits, bonuses, and severance. Ensure all payroll-related statutory deductions (e.g., PAYE, Pension, NHF, NSITF) are calculated correctly.
Requirements
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A professional certification such as ICAN or ACCA is highly desirable.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting and compliance roles, with at least 2 years in a leadership capacity, preferably in the Consulting and Staffing sector.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in accounting software (e.g., SAP, QuickBooks) and advanced Google Workspace skills. Experienced in payroll computation and management and strong knowledge of IFRS and local tax regulations.
- Analytical Skills: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate complex financial issues and compliance requirements.
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities; strong organizational skills with a proactive mindset.
- Work Style: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
