The Network Administrator II is responsible for supporting the daily operations of the organization’s
network and server environments. This includes monitoring network performance, diagnosing and
resolving issues, deploying upgrades, patches, and new application/equipment, and assisting in disaster
recovery and security enforcement. The role contributes to maintaining a stable, secure, and efficient IT
infrastructure.
• Establishes network specifications by collaborating with users to analyze workflow, access needs, information flow, and security requirements; designs router administration including interface configuration and routing protocols
• Establishes and configures the network by evaluating performance factors such as availability, utilization, throughput, goodput, and latency; plans and executes the selection, installation, configuration, and testing of equipment; defines network policies and procedures; sets up connections and firewalls
• Maintains optimal network performance through continuous monitoring, analysis, and performance tuning; troubleshoots issues and escalates to vendors as needed
• Secures the network by developing access protocols, monitoring usage, controlling access, and maintaining comprehensive documentation
• Prepares end users by designing and delivering training programs, providing documentation, and offering support
• Coordinates network upgrades by working with vendors to develop, test, evaluate, and implement system enhancements
• Stays current with industry trends by engaging in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining professional networks, and participating in relevant organizations
• Protects the organization’s assets and information by maintaining strict confidentiality
• Supports organizational objectives by taking ownership of tasks, fulfilling new and unique requests, and seeking ways to add value through innovation and initiative
