In this role, you’ll work closely with operational leaders and be connected to our global WHS team, to support a safe and healthy work environment for our employees, students, contractors and visitors.
What you'll be doing
- Implement, and monitor workplace health, safety, and wellness programs in compliance with relevant regulations and industry best practices.
- Conduct risk assessments, identify potential hazards, and recommend appropriate risk mitigation measures.
- Support the development of frameworks, policies and procedures, for both staff and student groups across Navitas' global footprint.
- Support with the preparation of leadership and Board reports
- Lead global wellbeing initiatives, such as annual exercise challenges and wellbeing surveys.
- Provide training and education to employees on health, safety, and wellness topics, promoting a culture of safety awareness.
- Maintain accurate records on Donesafe and SOLV platforms and prepare reports on health and safety metrics.
- Stay up-to-date with changes in relevant legislation, regulations, and industry standards, ensuring compliance and continuous improvement.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field e.g. Occupational Health and Safety, Public Health, or related discipline
- Good understanding of workplace health and safety legislation and best practices(e.g.OHSAS 18001, ISO 45001)
- Experience in injury and claims management and return-to-work programs
- Experience implementing wellness, health and safety programs
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Proficiency in data analysis and report writing
- Knowledge of ergonomics and workplace risk assessment
- Familiarity with relevant software (e.g. safety management systems, incident reporting tools) is preferable
