Role Overview
The Digital Content Creator will lead hands-on content creation for the organization’s digital and social channels. This is an execution-heavy role focused on producing compelling, story-driven content that reflects the organization’s voice and mission. The role is centered on content creation rather than publishing or scheduling, working in collaboration with internal team members responsible for distribution.
Key Responsibilities
Independently create digital content aligned with the organization’s voice and mission.
Produce short-form video, written content, and multimedia assets for social and digital use.
Develop visually engaging, story-driven content that resonates with youth audiences and key stakeholders, including funders, partners, and media.
Create content designed for repurposing across multiple platforms, including social, long-form, and partner channels.
Apply strong storytelling judgment without requiring detailed direction.
Translate civic and mission-driven themes into emotionally compelling content.
Ensure tone, voice, and messaging are authentic, relatable, and culturally relevant.
Engage directly with creators, partners, or contributors as part of content creation.
Support collaborative storytelling initiatives, interviews, or recorded conversations when needed.
Bring creator and community perspectives into content in an authentic way.
Collaborate closely with internal team members responsible for publishing and distribution.
Deliver finished content assets in a timely and well-organized manner.
Incorporate feedback efficiently while maintaining creative integrity and supporting planning, voice development, and approvals.
Stay aware of which content formats resonate most with audiences and experiment with a data-informed mindset.
Adjust creative output based on engagement trends and qualitative feedback.
Focus on emotional impact and content quality over volume.
Qualifications
Proven experience creating digital content end-to-end, including video, written, or multimedia formats.
Experience creating content around civic, cultural, or socially sensitive topics.
Familiarity with social platforms and digital content formats, even if not responsible for publishing.
Strong storytelling ability with a natural sense of voice and tone.
Ability to create emotionally engaging, culturally relevant content.
Comfortable working independently with minimal oversight.
Ability to collaborate effectively while maintaining creative ownership.
Consistent delivery of high-quality, emotionally engaging content assets.
Strong alignment with—and refinement of—the organization’s voice and storytelling goals.
Content that resonates deeply with youth audiences.
Smooth collaboration with internal teams handling publishing and distribution.
Proactive identification of storytelling opportunities through social listening that push creative thinking forward.
