Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Automation Architect /SDET to join our QA Center of Excellence. This role requires strong technical leadership in designing scalable automation frameworks and
hands-on experience with modern tools like Playwright (or any relevant tools) for Web, API, and Mobile automation. The ideal candidate will be passionate about quality, continuous testing, and mentoring automation engineers across squads while driving enterprise-level test strategy.

Job Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, development, and maintenance of enterprise automation frameworks using Playwright, TypeScript, and Cucumber BDD
- Drive adoption of AI-driven automation and modern QA practices to improve efficiency and coverage
- Define and enforce automation standards, best practices, and reusable components across the COE and enterprise QA teams
- Integrate automation with CI/CD pipelines (GitLab) and ensure smooth execution of Web, API and Mobile automation suites
- Oversee and optimize smoke, regression, and CI/CD automation suites across multiple teams
- Collaborate with product and leadership teams to onboard applications into the COE automation ecosystem
- Analyze automation failures, provide root cause insights, and drive corrective actions
- Mentor and guide other automation engineers, fostering knowledge sharing and skill development
- Act as a thought leader in automation strategy, governance, and enterprise-wide QA initiatives
- Direct Supervision by Manager
Basic Qualifications:
- 8+ years of experience in QA automation with hands-on framework design and development
- Strong experience in automation framework design for Web, API, and Mobile platforms
- Hands-on expertise in Playwright, TypeScript, Cucumber BDD, Appium or equivalent tools and frameworks
- Proven experience integrating automation with CI/CD tools (GitLab, Jenkins, Azure)
- Deep understanding of automation frameworks, test design patterns, reusable components, and enterprise-scale delivery
- Experience leading or mentoring multiple teams in a COE/shared services model
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Exposure to performance testing tools like JMeter or k6.
- Experience in mobile automation using tools like Appium or similar.
- Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, or containerized test environments.
- Background in e-commerce, retail, or pet-related industries is a plus.
- Strong understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and automation’s role within it
