An opportunity for Mathematics PhDs to contribute to an advanced project with one of the world’s leading AI research labs. This role offers competitive pay in the range of $65–$75 per hour, allowing you to apply your academic expertise to cutting-edge developments in artificial intelligence.
You will design and evaluate complex, real-world mathematical problems that challenge and inform the next generation of AI models — directly shaping how machines learn to reason and solve technical challenges.
Requirements
Ideal Qualifications
- Master’s or PhD in Mathematics from a leading university (preferably in the U.S. or similar academic ecosystem).
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-formulation abilities with high attention to detail.
- Excellent command of English.
- Currently based in the U.S., Canada, UK, New Zealand, or Australia.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate asynchronously with a global team of experts to develop, solve, and review advanced mathematical problems.
- Create intellectually rigorous and practically relevant problem sets to support AI model development.
- Ensure accuracy, clarity, and creativity in all problem designs.
- Work independently, maintaining high standards of quality and precision.
Role Details
- Commitment: 10–20 hours per week, with potential for extension and additional hours.
- Structure: Fully remote and asynchronous — work from anywhere.
- Start Date: Late September (applications reviewed on a rolling basis).
Compensation & Contract
- Hourly Rate: $65–$75/hour.
- Classification: Independent contractor.
- Payments: Processed weekly via Stripe Connect.
