ROLE DESCRIPTION
The role will be responsible for preparing and maintaining financial records, ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations, and minimizing tax liabilities for the organization. Also, to provide tax planning advise, prepare and file tax returns, and represent during tax audits. The role will be required to stay current on tax law changes and help management to make informed financial decisions to minimize tax liabilities and maximize tax benefits. The role will be supporting Finance manager in handling the finance matters of the country and preparation of financial reports, etc.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for preparing and maintaining financial records for two (2) entities
- Prepare necessary paperwork for tax payments and returns
- Accurate and timely preparation of tax filings and payments and its applicable attachments
- Ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations, and minimizing tax liabilities for the organization
- Provide tax planning and advice
- Help to navigate complex tax laws, identify tax savings opportunities
- Represents during tax audits – Responsible for preparation of reconciliations and documentations for LOA received from tax office
- Liaise with internal and external auditors
- Assist in Providing hedging data/cashflow data
- Assist in month end activities – Accruals, amortization, depreciation
- Assist in preparing specified balance sheet reconciliations
- Assist in financial reporting
- Assist in forecast process and all other corporate reporting
- Other admin task to support country manager, Finance Manager and Regional Finance Manager
Interaction with Shared Service Team
- Effectively manage shared service finance team in completing duties accurately and on time
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of 3 years of proven experience as a Tax Accountant, preferably within the IT Distribution industry.
- Solid hands-on experience managing tax audits, including preparation, communication with tax authorities, and audit defense strategies.
- Strong working knowledge of SAP for financial reporting, tax calculations, and compliance documentation.
- In-depth understanding of tax regulations and compliance standards relevant to the IT distribution sector.
- Demonstrated ability to handle complex tax matters including VAT, corporate income tax, and cross-border tax issues common in IT distribution.
