AidKit’s cutting-edge technology transforms complex cash assistance programs into streamlined, secure, and dignified experiences. By seamlessly connecting applicants to vital resources, we're making aid radically accessible for diverse populations—including unhoused and unbanked. From simplifying complex benefits modernization projects for state agencies to standing up efficient disaster relief programs, AidKit helps it’s partners deliver aid with dignity.
We were our own first customer—AidKit started as a nonprofit initiative born from the need to support systematically excluded workers during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic. Today, AidKit provides the technology backbone for some of the nation's most innovative public safety net programs, having distributed hundreds of millions of dollars to people in need.
As we continue to grow rapidly, the opportunity for impact is immense. Apply to join our team if you're seeking meaningful work in an environment that trusts your judgment and values your unique contributions.
We're seeking an experienced Implementation Engineer to join our expanding internal team at AidKit. In this pivotal role, you will lead the technical implementation of our innovative low/no-code platform, working on diverse, high-impact programs that require both technical sophistication and creative problem-solving. Each program brings unique requirements and challenges, giving you the opportunity to build custom solutions while also identifying patterns and improving our core platform capabilities. This position requires a blend of technical expertise, exceptional communication and organizational skills, and a collaborative mindset to effectively bridge the gap between Program Managers (PMs) and Platform Engineers (PEs).
You'll have the opportunity to shape how we scale our platform, build reusable solutions, and directly contribute to programs that change lives. If you excel in dynamic and ambiguous environments, enjoy solving complex technical challenges, and are passionate about translating client needs into impactful solutions, we'd love to hear from you!
Partner with Program Managers to understand client requirements, conduct feasibility studies, and define program scope and success criteria
Lead the configuration and enhancement of our low/no-code applications, translating client requirements into system logic (sometimes SQL and JavaScript are required)
Design custom workflows or leverage existing templates and best practices
Own the technical implementation end-to-end—from discovery through payments—ensuring applicants can successfully apply and receive funds
Proactively identify, document, and resolve technical issues with root cause analysis; monitor programs post-launch and iterate based on feedback
Perform comprehensive QA and testing before each program launch, validating logic, verifing data integrity, and confirming compliance
Respond to customer questions and communicate proactively about updates or changes that may impact their programs
Create and maintain detailed documentation for each implementation, including project plans, custom configurations, technical decisions, and best practices
Provide structured feedback to improve configuration processes and internal tools
We're looking for a technically skilled builder who thrives at the intersection of configuration, customization, and problem-solving. You have strong technical capabilities in low-code/no-code environments and are energized by designing and implementing custom solutions for complex programs. While we have established workflows and templates, we need curious, pattern-seeking individuals who love to learn our systems deeply, identify opportunities for improvement, and build upon what exists. You take ownership of your deliverables, manage projects end-to-end, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners. If you're excited by the challenge of translating unique program requirements into scalable technical implementations—and you enjoy being both builder and collaborator—we'd love to meet you.
Technical skills: Intermediate or working knowledge of SQL and JavaScript is required. You should be comfortable writing SQL queries that join tables to explore data structures and answer questions, and comfortable writing JavaScript functions and using common object methods.
Project ownership: Ability to manage multiple programs simultaneously from kickoff to launch to payments, tracking timelines, dependencies, and risks with strong attention to detail and careful handling of critical functionality
Communication: Excellent communication skills and ability to work autonomously while collaborating with PMs, PEs, and customers; skilled at translating technical concepts for non-technical audiences and navigating ambiguous situations
Mission Alignment: Deep care for supporting hard-to-reach communities and advancing AidKit's mission through scalable technology and meaningful social impact
Mindset: Proactive approach with eagerness to learn, experiment, and innovate
AI Usage: Comfort embracing AI tools as productivity enhancers while maintaining critical thinking about their limitations, outputs, and appropriate use cases
Quality assurance, software testing, or test automation experience in technical or product environments
Experience designing user workflows, application forms, or surveys using tools like Figma, Miro, or other process mapping and design platforms
Experience in customer-facing technical roles such as implementation consulting, technical account management, solutions engineering, or customer support in SaaS or fast-paced startup environments
For this full-time position, you can work from anywhere in the United States. The salary band for this role is $120-145,000 per year.
