World Business Lenders (WBL) provides general purpose short-term real estate collateralized commercial loans to a broad customer base comprised of small and medium sized businesses throughout the United States that lack access to traditional funding.

• This is a Contract/Consultant position. Generally, working hours will be 9:00am-6:00pm Eastern Time, Monday through Friday, although hours worked may be greater based upon operational requirements. The job requires excellent oral and written command of the English language.

Responsibilities: 

• Data Platform Progress: Percentage of legacy Excel/PDF processes migrated to consolidated platform; time-to-insight reduction; data quality and completeness metrics
• Architecture Maturity: Adoption of architectural standards and practices; reduction in critical technical debt; system reliability and availability metrics
• Business Impact: Cost savings from automation and modernization; revenue impact of product enhancements; process cycle time reductions; business user satisfaction with data and tooling
• Technology Stack: Successful evaluation, piloting, and adoption of modernization technologies; platform cost efficiency and performance metrics
• Capability Building: Technical skill development across teams; successful mentorship of junior engineers
• Team Satisfaction: Employee engagement scores; feedback from skip-level reviews; team feedback on leadership effectiveness
• Recruitment Success: Time-to-hire; quality of new hires; diversity and inclusion in hiring outcomes
• Project Delivery: On-time and on-budget delivery of application features and data infrastructure projects; scope change and rework rates
• Quality Metrics: Defect escape rate; production incident frequency and severity; automated test coverage; code review effectiveness
• Velocity & Efficiency: Sprint velocity trends; deployment frequency; cycle time from requirement to production
• Technical Debt Management: Technical debt trend (tracking and reduction); balance of modernization vs. new feature delivery
• Stakeholder Satisfaction & Communication
• CIO & Leadership Alignment: CIO feedback on strategic contribution and decision-making; stakeholder confidence in technical roadmap and delivery
• Cross-Functional Partnerships: Feedback from Business Intelligence, Product Management, Security, and business stakeholders on collaboration and responsiveness
• Transparency: Quality and timeliness of status reporting; predictability and accuracy of forecasts; stakeholder confidence in risk visibility

Requirements

• We’re looking for candidates with a robust background in software or data engineering, boasting a minimum of 8 to 10 years in the field.
• Ideally, you’ll have at least 3 to 5 years of experience in team leadership, serving as a technical team lead or in senior engineering positions.
  

Industry Experience:

• Proven track record in at least three of the following areas: application software development, data engineering and analytics, cloud platform architecture, system integration, IT modernization initiatives, or leading technology teams
• Exceptional ability to deliver intricate technical projects on time, ensuring high quality and stakeholder satisfaction
• Experience collaborating within cross-functional teams, engaging with diverse business and technology stakeholders
• Solid background in Agile or iterative development methodologies
• Experience in managing technical teams or assuming substantial leadership roles within technical organizations
