Role Overview
The Senior Lead of Data Platforms & Airtable Solutions Architect is the primary owner of the organization’s data infrastructure. This role is responsible for transforming Airtable from a database into a centralized, production-grade hub for automated workflows and decision-grade intelligence. You will design and operate the systems that turn expert labeling activity, QA signals, and delivery events into auditable evidence for clients and actionable insights for internal leadership.
Key Responsibilities
1. Data Architecture & Workflow Engineering
- Airtable Ecosystem Design: Architect complex Airtable bases using normalized schemas, linked records, rollups, and advanced formulas to support live delivery workflows.
- End-to-End Pipelines: Own the full data lifecycle, designing scalable pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and storage across Airtable and enterprise warehouses like AWS S3.
- Workflow Automation: Build sophisticated automated workflows using native Airtable tools, scripting extensions (JavaScript), and middleware like Make or Zapier to reduce manual overhead.
2. AI Implementation & Integration
- LLM Embedding: Integrate Large Language Models (GPT-4, Claude, Gemini) directly into Airtable to automate data categorization, content generation, and sentiment analysis.
- External Connectivity: Develop robust API connections to external tools, including GPTZero for AI-detection auditing and AWS S3 for secure data archiving.
- Dataset Creation: Lead projects for graduate-level taskers to create high-quality datasets specifically designed to train LLMs.
3. Intelligence, Analytics & Reporting
- Business Intelligence (BI): Design and maintain advanced reporting layers using PowerBI or similar BI tools to visualize long-term trends and cross-platform data correlations.
- Performance Tracking: Define and operationalize frameworks to track expert quality, consistency, throughput, and reliability.
Real-time Dashboards: Build high-level Airtable Interfaces that translate raw data into immediate business intelligence for Product and Operations leaders.
4. Governance & Leadership
- Data Integrity: Maintain a "single source of truth" by ensuring reliability and consistency across distributed bases and data syncs.
- Team Mentorship: Build and lead a high-impact data team while acting as a pragmatic,
outcomes-oriented partner to executive leadership.
- Compliance: Support privacy and data protection requirements for regulated use cases, ensuring all data flows are audit-ready.
Requirements
- Airtable Mastery: Extensive experience with Interface Designer, multi-source syncing, and complex relational architecture.
- BI Tool Expertise: Proven experience using PowerBI, Tableau, or Looker to build enterprise-grade visualization and data models.
- Scripting & API Proficiency: Strong command of JavaScript for Airtable Scripting and building custom REST/JSON API requests.
- Cloud Infrastructure: Familiarity with AWS S3 storage buckets and the logic required to move data between no-code platforms and data warehouses.
- Operational Intuition: Experience supporting ops-heavy environments such as data labeling pipelines, QA loops, or BPOs.
Strategic Mindset: High ownership mindset with the ability to operate in ambiguous, "zero-to-one" environments.
