About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Financial Analyst who will serve in a controller capacity, owning day to day accounting operations while supporting financial analysis and reporting. Reporting directly to the Senior Manager, Finance & Operations, this role is critical to ensuring accurate financial records, timely close processes, and strong compliance with accounting standards and internal controls. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands on accounting professional who enjoys building structure, taking initiative, and contributing to a growing organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain the general ledger and chart of accounts, ensuring accuracy and consistency
- Perform monthly account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
- Own month-end accounting close activities, including journal entries and general ledger close processes
- Prepare and analyze variance analysis comparing actual results to budget and forecasts
- Prepare quarterly and annual financial statements for internal reporting and tax purposes, and assist in preparation of quarterly board of director Finance materials
- Draft and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and technical accounting memos
- Ensure compliance with IFRS and internal controls
- Administer Payroll, Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable, including invoicing, collections, and vendor payments
- Maintain and administer the company’s capitalization table, ensuring accurate tracking of equity ownership and stock option activity
- Work directly with external auditors, tax accountants, and legal advisors as required
- Support continuous improvement of accounting processes, systems, and documentation
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or a related field
- CPA designation or actively working toward CPA
- 3-5 years of experience in a controllership, senior accounting, or similar role
- Strong working knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting requirements
- Solid understanding of full-cycle accounting and financial close processes
- High attention to detail with strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of deliverables
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency with QuickBooks Online (QBO)
- Familiarity with SaaS business accounting (e.g., revenue recognition, deferred revenue)
- Experience in a large, mature organization with knowledge of robust accounting and internal controls frameworks, and/or in a public accounting external audit capacity.
