You'll own engineering as a function: technical direction, team growth, and execution velocity as we scale from launch to market expansion.
Our engineering org is small but growing, and we’re weeks away from launching Moon Engine. A senior team of AI scientists, software engineers, and product leaders has spent the last several months building the core system from first principles. Now we’re scaling.
Moon Engine is an agent-orchestrated recruiting operations system, not automation: autonomous agents operating as decision partners, coordinating real hiring decisions with governance, auditability, and preference-aware behavior.
This is a rare moment to step into a foundational leadership role: real product, real users, hard technical problems, and architecture decisions that will compound for years.
If you want to build and lead a system at the intersection of agentic architectures, production AI, and real-world decision infrastructure, let’s talk.
What You’ll Do
- Work closely with founders to turn product vision into shipped systems
- Design and build core product features end-to-end across frontend, backend, and infrastructure
- Architect and scale AI-driven systems that evaluate, rank, and coordinate talent workflows
- Build reliable, production-grade services using React, TypeScript and Python
- Own deployment, observability, performance, and cost as first-class product concerns
- Make foundational technical decisions and evolve the platform as we scale
- Define engineering culture, hiring bar, and team rituals as we grow from 3 to 20+
- Partner with founders on roadmap prioritization, resource allocation, and technical tradeoffs
- Establish engineering processes that maintain velocity without sacrificing quality
- Build and mentor the engineering team; make early key hires
What We’re Looking For
- Strong full-stack engineering
- Proven experience shipping and operating production systems
- Solid platform and DevOps experience, including: Cloud infrastructure design, CI/CD pipelines, and Scaling, reliability, and performance tuning
- Comfort owning infrastructure decisions and evolving them over time (Docker today, Kubernetes or similar at scale)
- Security- and reliability-first mindset
- Experience building and leading engineering teams (even small ones)
- Track record of hiring and developing strong engineers
- Ability to context-switch between code and cross-functional leadership
Plus
- Experience building agentic or multi-agent AI systems
- Hands-on with LangGraph, LangChain, or LLM orchestration frameworks
- Prior work on AI-native products, developer platforms, or workflow automation
- Early-stage startup experience or strong builder mentality
Why This Role
- Founding-level ownership with real architectural influence
- Build a category-defining product at the intersection of AI and hiring
- Work on systems that operate at scale, learn continuously, and ship fast
- Small team, high trust, zero bureaucracy
