As Kraken expands across the US, we are building the financial operations and execution discipline that will
support our growth for years to come. The Senior Manager, Financial Operations will help execute, maintain,
and continuously improve financial processes across our US business, ensuring clarity, transparency, and
alignment between finance and operational teams. This is a hands-on, executional role. The Senior Manager,
Financial Operations is responsible for executing and maintaining day-to-day financial operations at the
direction of the US Finance Controller, who retains ownership of accounting judgments, policy, compliance,
and governance.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in high-growth environments, is comfortable being close to the work,
and enjoys bringing order to ambiguity through strong operational execution. You will partner closely with the
US Finance Controller to translate financial direction into scalable routines, reporting visibility, and operational
discipline. You will collaborate with many different departments across Kraken to ensure financial processes
work in practice, supporting accurate reporting, clean inputs into month-end close, and confident US growth.
What You'll Do:
- Day-to-day Financial Operations:
- Execute core financial operations including company credit card reconciliations, employee expense processing, AP/AR transactions, and vendor payment coordination.
- Review, code, and validate transactions for accuracy and policy adherence prior to submission for approval.
- Own recurring finance activities that ensure clean, reliable inputs into month-end close and reporting cycles.
- Support month-end routines by preparing and reviewing reconciliations, validating transaction-level data, and coordinating inputs across teams to ensure completeness and accuracy.
- Prepare journal entry support, schedules, and reconciliations for Controller review and approval.
- Investigate discrepancies, follow up with internal teams and vendors, and resolve issues in a timely manner and in compliance with Kraken’s financial policies.
- Maintain supporting schedules, trackers, and reconciliations that underpin billing, cashflow, and expense reporting.
- Apply judgment to prioritize, sequence, and resolve operational finance issues while escalating decisions requiring accounting or policy interpretation to the Controller.
- Process, Systems and Scaling:
- Execute, maintain, and continuously improve financial workflows that support billing, expenses, cashflow and delivery execution across the US business.
- Work with the Controller to implement finance processes, approval flows, and reporting routines, ensuring they operate effectively in day-to-day practice.
- Support the rollout and adoption of finance tools and systems by maintaining workflows, documenting processes, and assisting teams with consistent usage.
- Document playbooks, ownership models, and SOPs that support operational consistency and audit readiness.
- Identify gaps, inefficiencies, or friction points and propose practical improvements that enhance execution and visibility.
- Reporting & Insight:
- Build lightweight dashboards and reporting tools that increase visibility into key financial and operational metrics like billing status, cashflow, and expenses.
- Prepare recurring management reporting and summaries that support business reviews, audits, and compliance requirements.
- Translate finance data into clear visuals and summaries for local stakeholders, highlighting trends, risks, and follow-ups.
- Partner with the Controller and Group Finance to support broader reporting requirements through clean data, supporting schedules, and reliable inputs.
- Business Partnering:
- Serve as a day-to-day connective link between finance and operational teams, clarifying expectations, risks, and timelines, and required inputs.
- Coordinate financial obligations and reporting requirements across Delivery, Customer Success, Operations, HR, and Commercial teams.
- Escalate risks, blockers, or inconsistencies to the Controller with clear context and recommended next steps.
- Financial Documentation & Process Consistency
- Maintain audit-ready documentation, supporting schedules, and process records in line with established policies.
- Support the Controller by preparing data, reconciliations, and documentation required for audit and compliance activities.
- Help reinforce adherence to existing financial policies by ensuring processes are followed consistently in day-to-day execution.
What you'll need:
- Experience operating in fast-growth, technology-enabled, or services-oriented environments where finance execution and operations are closely intertwined.
- Experience building or maintaining lightweight reporting, dashboards, or operational tracking tools that improve visibility across finance and delivery teams.
- High attention to detail paired with sound judgement in prioritizing and resolving operational finance issues.
- Proven ability to work cross-functionally with operations, delivery, commercial, and finance stakeholders to drive consistent process adoption.
- Comfort operating in ambiguous environments and a demonstrated ability to create structure, documentation, and repeatable processes where they don’t exist.
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree is nice but not needed.
This role provides the operational capacity required to keep core financial processes running smoothly and
consistently across teams. By owning execution, documentation, and coordination, the Manager, Financial
Operations reduces execution risk, improves visibility, and ensures financial information is dependable as the
business grows in complexity. This role allows finance leadership to remain focused on governance, technical
accounting, and forward-looking priorities, while ensuring execution keeps pace with growth.
In doing so, this role enables the US finance function to scale with confidence - strengthening operational
discipline today while supporting more sophisticated governance and strategic finance work over time.
