The Social Media Specialist will be responsible for managing and growing the organization’s presence across Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn. This role focuses on content scheduling, community engagement, and copywriting, while supporting content creation in collaboration with the broader team. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and passionate about building empathetic, mission-aligned social content that resonates with a highly engaged community.
Manage and maintain posting schedules across Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
Schedule and publish content consistently to ensure an active and reliable social presence.
Ensure timely delivery of posts aligned with campaign goals and organizational priorities.
Support content creation, including social posts, graphics, and visual assets using Canva.
Collaborate with internal team members to ensure content remains on-brand and goal-oriented.
Adapt content formats and messaging to suit each platform’s best practices.
Monitor and respond to comments, messages, and mentions in a timely, friendly, and professional manner.
Foster meaningful conversations and relationships to grow a loyal and engaged community.
Maintain a respectful and empathetic tone, especially when engaging with sensitive topics.
Write clear, engaging captions, comments, and messages tailored to each social platform.
Craft impactful copy that resonates with individuals affected by ultra-rare diseases and aligned audiences.
Maintain consistency in voice, tone, and messaging across all channels.
2+ years of experience managing social media accounts for brands or organizations.
Hands-on experience managing Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
Proficiency using Canva to create social media graphics and content.
Strong copywriting skills with the ability to craft compelling, on-brand messaging.
Ability to manage multiple platforms and content schedules simultaneously.
Analytical mindset to review performance and inform future content strategies.
Proactive, self-driven, and comfortable taking initiative.
Strong sense of ownership over social media performance and community experience.
Empathetic communicator, especially when engaging with sensitive or mission-driven content.
Understanding of ultra-rare diseases is a strong plus.
A consistent and engaging social media presence across Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
Increased community engagement and positive interactions with followers.
Content that resonates with and supports individuals impacted by ultra-rare diseases.
