As former advertisers, they understood the limitations of traditional marketing, and saw an opportunity to deliver more value on both sides. That idea quickly turned into action, and the first prototype was built over a weekend with the other co-founders. Today, ShopBack serves over 50 million users across 13 markets, partners with 20,000+ merchants, and powers over half a million transactions daily. We’re on the hunt for an ambitious, data-driven Growth Marketing Manager (New Zealand) to take ShopBack through its next phase of growth. Based out of our Sydney office, you’ll be at the forefront of scaling customer acquisition for one of ShopBack’s newest and fastest-growing markets, combining analytical rigour with creative flair. This is a unique opportunity to lead customer acquisition and drive strategic growth as we work towards becoming a household name in New Zealand.
Your Adventure Ahead
- Performance Marketing & Paid Social
- Champion performance marketing in New Zealand, scaling acquisition across multiple channels with the support of our in-house marketing tech and performance media team
- Lead paid social content strategy - generate and test ideas, brief graphic designers/creators, and optimise to maximise efficiency and conversion
- Run a continuous test-measure-learn process across creatives, targeting, and landing experiences
- Champion pilots across new channels & platforms targeted at customer acquisition, building efficient and scalable growth engines
- Stay ahead of industry and platform shifts, making sure ShopBack is always pushing boundaries
- Local Growth Levers
- Own high-impact campaigns & our Refer-a-Friend programme to drive user growth, collaborating closely with the ANZ Campaigns & CRM team
- Build and manage select influencer partnerships that amplify our paid efforts
- Explore and activate other partnership opportunities to support acquisition at efficient unit economics
- Budget & Analytics
- Take ownership of the NZ acquisition marketing budget, ensuring resources are allocated efficiently for maximum impact
- Monitor performance in detail and translate insights into better strategies
Essentials to Succeed
- Experience & Skills
- 4–6 years in growth, performance, or digital marketing, ideally in tech, e-commerce, or high-growth environments
- Experience scaling paid digital campaigns (Meta, Google, TikTok, YouTube)
- Data literate, able to use insights to drive optimisations and inform decisions
- Solid experience with budget management and Excel/Sheets
- A strong balance of analytical chops and creative spark; have worked closely with creative teams and/or creators to develop high-performing ads
- Track record of collaborating cross-functionally across creative, CRM, and business teams
