We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Contracted Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to partner with our leadership team and a portfolio of independent clients. This role is ideal for a finance professional with deep expertise in financial strategy, cash flow forecasting, and scaling organizations, as well as a strong desire to continuously learn, adapt, and grow as a CFO leader. Success in this role requires independent thinking within our established CFO framework, exceptional time-management skills, and the ability to balance responsiveness with effective allocation of time across multiple clients.
We invest heavily in advanced CFO leadership training and techniques, and this role is best suited for a candidate with a demonstrated thirst for learning and adapting. Additionally, the ideal candidate has a passion for training and teaching others, as this position is rewarded for effectively leveraging junior staff—delegating work appropriately while maintaining accountability and quality—across multiple concurrent client engagements.
You will function as a trusted advisor to business owners, operating much like an in-house CFO while remaining accountable to internal firm standards, processes, and leadership.
Responsibilities:
• Serve as Head of Finance for assigned clients, working closely with owners and executive teams to align financial strategies with business goals.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and 3-Statement financial modeling processes, including 12-month budgets and projections, quarterly refreshes, and dynamic 13-week cash flow forecasts.
• Partner with clients (typically $600K–$15M in revenue) to identify opportunities for growth and profitability.
• Help clients create digestible action items, improve cost management, and implement growth plans.
• Develop and refine KPIs (including working capital targets) to guide decision-making and track performance.
• Advise on SBA loans, lines of credit, and financing strategies.
• Support clients with valuation increases, bank relationships, and potential exits.
• Identify financial risks, ensure compliance with relevant regulations, and recommend back-office processes for accurate reporting.
• Conduct weekly 30-minute stand-up calls, monthly 60–120 minute CFO calls, and quarterly 90-minute CFO calls for strategic reviews.
• Deliver monthly financial packages (e.g., Fathom dashboards), conduct quarterly cost audits, and oversee accounting team reporting.
Skills:
• Proven ability to deliver strategic financial guidance and actionable insights in a multi-client environment.
• Strong experience with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
• Excellent project management and communication skills.
• Proficiency in financial platforms such as QuickBooks Online, Xero, Excel, and modern FP&A/reporting tools.
• Familiarity with SBA loans, banking relationships, and small business funding.
• Comfortable advising across industries including local services like restaurants, construction, and professional services.
This position is fully remote.
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 6 PM EST. Lenguage: English C1
